Link manages to calm himself down and he takes several deep breaths before getting out of bed. He tests his mobility and deems it good enough before quietly opening the curtains and heading out the door

Ike who hadn;t fallen asleep hears the curtains rustle and lifts his head, seeing Link leave. " huh, wonder what he's up to..." he sits up, wincing slightly before getting up and following.

Link sneaks around the halls to make sure no one sees him before sneaking into a side room that has a ladder. He takes a deep breath to steady himself before climbing up the ladder, it taking him to the top and he opens the wooden door, climbing outside to the roof.

Ike groans softly when he sees the other climb the ladder, grimacing as he too climbs up and out onto the roof, " fuck dude... seriously couldn;t you have picked a easier place to get to?"

Link jumps and quickly turns around, wide eyed and pale as he takes a few steps back.

Ike groans and sits, " take it easy, don;t want to fall off now do we? waste all that effort we went to to save you." he rests a hand over his side, " ow..."

Link blinks and watches him for a few moments before hesitantly sitting down, not taking his eyes off Ike

Ike leans back and relaxes, " well i can see why you wanted to be up here, did it have to b e a ladder though? i think i got my side bleeding a little again... ah well, it is what it is. wouldn't be the first time won;t be the last."

Link keeps staring at ike, not making a single move as he watches the man.

Ike glances over, raising an eyebrow, " um... no offense but that's a tiny bit creepy. im not going to change into a monster or anything, or a bird and fly off. it's just plain old me, Ike, general of the Greil mercenaries." he waves a hand, " ta-da...nothing that special i promise."

Links eyes narrow slightly, he looks around and huffs seeing nothing to assist him in communicating. He nervously scoots close and gently takes one of ike's hands, palm towards him and he begins to trace words with his finger against ike's palm, "can you understand this?"

Ike frowns slightly as his hand is taken and traced on, mouthing the letters as they're traced on his skin and trying not to twitch from the touches, " uh, yes. not the easiest but i think that'll work."

Link nods, satisfied with that answer before going back to ike's hand, making sure to go slow enough for ike to keep up, "why did you follow me?"

Ike snorts, " It's never a good idea to let a comrade go off on their own after a battle. Even if they didn;t get captured by the enemy which is a mind fuck of a whole 'nother level, the heat of battle can mess with people. I guess what im trying to say is it's kind of a habit, being the leader means i have to make sure all of my men are taken care of, even before myself no matter what."

Link frowns, "i see." link bites his lower lip, being careful to avoid the scab that is still healing, "i am sorry. Im normally not followed unless someone wants something from me."
