'it doesnt matter who you are or what you've accomplished! Your life will NEVER be worth HERS!' link yelps when the sword is easily knocked out of his loose grip, the force causing him to stumble backwards and he lands flat on his ass.
He looks up at ike, his eyes wide and unfocused, fear written all over his pale face.

Ike automatically starts to swing down for a 'killing blow' before he stops himself, blinking as he sees the expression on Links face, " oh hey, sorry about that. you alright?" he holds out his free hand to help the other up.

'Pathetic. Get up. On your feet. I'm gonna make sure you get in the royal guard even if you die a few times.'
Link blinks and focuses on the taller man. He cautiously take ike's hand, ignoring the fact that his vision is beginning to blur.

Ike pulls to get him back on his feet, dusting him off a bit before looking out over the recruits, " you saw the skill of the blows we exchanged back and forth, you need to be able to read your opponent and react accordingly within a moment." he pats Link on the back, " that was a good fight."

Link looks at ike and shakes his head. He puts his wooden sword back before taking ike's hand, "no need to be nice. I know i did terrible."

Ike blinks, " what? you kidding? most swordsmen have trouble fending off my first couple of blows. you lasted longer than most. Im not the general of an army for nothing Link, im no novice when it comes to sword fighting."

"i still failed. I'll do better next time."

[Namari]

Ike rolls his eyes, " yeah, and you'll get better with practice. chill out, you've never seen a fighting style like mine, of course it's going to be difficult to counter." he sighs, " anyway..." he looks out over the recruits, " now, which ones of you think you can take me on?"

A senior recruit smirks and steps up, "sure. Why the hell not. Name's Chris."

Ike raises an eyebrow at the cocky attitude, " well, you've got balls i'll give you that Chris. I guess i never did introduce myself. I am Ike, general of the Greil mercenaries, and at one point of the Crimean liberation army." he steps closer, " so don't feel too bad when i hand your ass to you." He takes a defensive stance, " so give me your best shot."

Seeing whats going on a lot of the recruits give an excited holler before perching themselves on a nearby fence to watch, link included.

One young soldier that is next to link smirks, "Careful there Ike! Chris likes to play dirty!"

Another soldier throws his hands in the air, "TAKE HIM DOWN A PEG IKE!"

Link chuckles, also pretty excited to see chris get his ass kicked.

Chris huffs and glares at ike before charging at him, taking a quick swing at him

Ike blocks, stepping back. He takes the advice to heart that the solider likes to play dirty and stays on the defensive for now, waiting to see what the younger would do.

Chris snarls and pivots his body, aiming his sword at ike's side as he swings

Ike angles his blade to block the swing easily and sweeps a foot to knock the others leg out from under him, aiming of course for the one he currently had his weight on.

Chris lets himself drop, using it to quickly roll out of ike's reach before he jumps back up
