" you...have never cleaned yourself... oh for crying out loud. well, i am dirty as well, we might as well just both go ahead, then i can keep an eye on you and make sure you do not fall. and that you actually get clean." he shakes his head and strips his clothing off, tossing the soiled garments into a basket, " strip." he gets under the water, keeping his eyes away from the others body.

Orion hesitantly strips, unsure as to where he should put his clothes but figured anywhere away from water would be good enough. He sets the clothes down before carefully slipping his lace white underwear off and setting that down as well before stepping in to the shower keeping his back towards ren

Renshajoh grabs a stiff brush and quickly gets to work scrubbing his scales clean, transferring it to his tail to get his back. Before long his scales are grime free and he glances over at Orion, " are you managing over there?"

Orion hadnt moved since he got in, his nerves getting the best of him, "i... dont know. There's usually already soap on me but thats clearly not the case right now..."

The lizard sighs, grabbing the soap and starting to wash the other.

Orion makes a loud squeak and quickly turns his head to looks at renshajoh, "you- you dont have to do that!! Just- UH- just tell me what to do! I'll figure it out!" He was so embarrassed he felt like his face was going to explode.

He snorts softly, " you did not figure it out yet. do not fret, i have washed younglings before. my sisters offspring, and they were far squirmier than you." he deftly cleans the other, scrubbing him from neck to toes. " close your eyes, you face and hair is also dirty." he waits until the other does so and scrubs the skin and hair before rinsing it off, " there, you're clean."

Orion keeps squirming, closing his eyes and whines softly, "its- its weird to have someone you dont know bathe you! And im not a kid!" He huffs when he's, in his opinion, manhandled. He doesnt hold his attitude for long though. The heat and steam from the shower and the feeling if being clean makes him remember how tired he was, causing him to pout and lean against the shower walls

The lizard snorts again, " the only ones back home so incapable of tending to themselves are younglings, so functionally yes you are." he shuts the water off and wraps a large towel around the other, " there. dry off and get dressed, then get some rest. you've worked hard and earned it."

Orion nods and steps out of the shower, enjoying the fuzzy feeling of the towel. He goes over to the clothes ren grabbed and tilts his head, "although i dont think you would have a kid crawl through vents... are these clothes for me?"

Ren shrugs, " if they were capable, and i had rope tied to them so i can pull them to safety, why not? we do far more dangerous things just to survive back home. only about half of younglings make it to adulthood, but that's just life there." he looks over, " yes those are for you. pointless to get into dirty clothing with clean skin." he grabs Orions dirty clothes and tosses them into the basket with his own.

Orion frowns and looks at ren, "what? Why? Is your planet hostile or something?" He gets himself dry enough to start getting his shirt on

Renshajoh chuckles, " you could say that. the planet is mostly covered by water, with marshy areas and small islands. The deep waters are inhabited by large predators, the most dangerous being larger than this ship. and most of the islands have large predatory birds. we must live between them, staying out of the deep waters and off land, because both predators will gladly eat us. so we stay mostly in the marshes, moving as the waters rise and fall between the rainy and dry seasons to stay in water deep enough to be safe from the birds, and shallow enough that the biggest fish cannot reach us." he uses his own towel to dry off his scales, " which is why we've evolved to be strong, fast, and adaptable."

Orion nods, "that is unfortunate that your people must endure so much... i'm sorry..." his eyes land on the normal looking underwear and he blinks, "what is this?"

The lizard shrugs, " that is normal. and while things have gotten somewhat less dangerous with the new technologies brought to us, we limit our use of them. we prefer dangerous freedom to comfortable cages." he looks over, " those are underthings, the clothing you wear under the top layer? like that frilly white thing you have."
