The cook nods and starts getting two trays ready for ren, "figured some others woulda woken up. The crew already came in and grabbed what they wanted since captain didnt let them leave until the engine was fixed."

Orion keeps his eyes closed and his head down and he struggles to wake up.

The cook places the two, full trays on the counter for ren, "there ya are bud. "

He nods, " they did well to repair so badly damaged an engine. many thanks." he grabs the two trays, and makes sure the other is still clinging to his shirt before heading back down the hall to his room.

Orion follows ren, sighing softly once they get back to the familiarity of the basilisk's room, "...ren..?"

The basilisk sets the trays down on his little table, " yes?"

Orion sits down and yawns, "i know you said there were others on your planet but... do you have family?"

[Namari]

Renshajoh blinks, " yes. my parents still live, and i have a few siblings. they have 3 children between them that i know of that are alive, though there are likely more by now. why?"

Orion shrugged, "i... was looking into auction houses before i fell asleep...i... was trying to figure out... where i was sold... and if... they had ever sold others of my kind.."

The basilisk frowns and sits, " even if they did, i doubt it'd be recorded. slavery tends to be a more black market sort of thing. not accessible through free information." he gestures to the datapad. " it would be possible to look into it, but it would take time and traveling. and money. and you want to go home, so not really something where we could do both."

Orion frowns and looks down, "oh... i... i... yeah. Yeah no you're right..." he looks down, his ears lowering, "i... do want to go back to master but...it would have been nice to know if i had family."

Renshajoh nods, " well, you can delay going back to search for that information, or you can go home and hope your master will permit you to look."

Orion brings his knees up to his chest and frowns, "i...master said he loves me so... maybe he'll let me if i ask..."

Renshajoh frowns, " if you say so." he leaves it at that despite wanting to tell the other how much he doubted it. but that was not his business. He starts eating his meal quietly.

Orion sighs and eats his food quietly

He wished he could reassure the other, but the chances are once the man got him back, he'd never let him out of his grip again. He instead tries to shift the topic, " the food is good today."

Orion shrugs, "i guess i wouldnt know much. Im still used to my usual meals."
