Orion tilts his head, "like what?"

Ren chuckles softly, " well, once while i was out hunting for fish i got a little cocky and went into deep waters. a small Karut spotted me, and while i say small, they're still formidable fish. He came at me, and grabbed me in his jaws. I managed to sink my claws into his eye, and shoved my arm deeper into his brain. took me awhile to heal up from that, but we had much food from that fish. There was also the time i got swamp sickness. And also when i first was leaving home, some crooks tried to mug me. they pretended to want me to work for them, and lead me to their ship. then they attacked me. but clearly they had not dealt with my kind before." he laughs softly.

"... ka...karut... and swamp sickness?"

Ren grabs his datapad and pulls up a picture of a stubby but spikey fish with long sharp teeth, holding it out to show the other, " one of the big predatory fish from my planet. and swamp sickness, well it's a fever, hallucinations, weakness, overall not fun."

Orion looks at the fish and frowns,  "huh. But... those things happened to you and they were bad but you wouldn't change that? You'd still let yourself get sick? And eaten?"

Ren bursts out laughing, " well i didn;t get eaten, i wouldn;t be here. and yes, if i had to give up everything, good and bad, i would not. i have experienced many amazing things, and met many amazing people. i have swum deep into oceans and experienced danger, but i have also seen the beauty of those depths, strange fish and underwater vents where hot water mingles with the freezing deep waters. fish and plants that glow with their own light sources, and some even use it to lure in other fish to eat. I have been stung by the agonizing pain of a Tara plants spines, but then seen the flower of that same plant bloom, an amazing sight that lasts for just a single night and is so bright white it almost shines. i have met people who have tried to kill or harm me, and others who are so kind an generous that it's hard to think both can exist in the same world. if there were no bad, good would have no meaning."

Orion blinks and settles a bit on the bed as he takes in what ren said, "i... suppose..."

He leans back in his chair, " anyway, it's not like you're ever 100% safe anyway. you could get hit by a meteor, a kitchen appliance could explode, your ship could crash, millions of little things could hurt or kill you even if you stayed in one place and never went outside."

Orion rolls his eyes, "yeah yeah you mentioned that before."

He chuckles softly, " did i? well, it's true. anyway i feel like i won;t have to use my humid box for awhile after getting a few good swims, though i could use a warmup. i think my temps getting a bit low." he gets up and crawls under the heat lamp, " let me know if you need anything okay?"

Orion nods, "Alright. I may shower or something but I wont need assistance for that."

Ren chuckles softly, " at this point i'd be a little suspicious if you did need help with it."

Orion shrugs, "wasnt too sure if you still wanted to play bodyguard."

Ren rolls his eyes, " i can hear the shower from here, if you need something call out and i will be there. you do not need me to babysit you."

orion huffs, "I dont want you to babysit me. i was merely mentioning it because YOU didnt want me to be alone before."
