The near champion pokemon trainer had retired from exploring and competitive pokemon training years ago, coming home to work at his family pokemon ranch. His own pokemon roamed freely around the grounds, enjoying the fresh air and mingling with the pokemon his family raised and tended for a living, with one exception, his skuntank. That pokemon had a temper, and due to the odor he was kept in his pokeball. Regardless the former championship quality team enjoyed their home, and Sato rode his partner rapidash with skill, driving several tauros ahead of him as he moves them from the north pasture towards the barn. The light was fading fast, turning to night, and dark clouds rumbled ominously, heralding a storm coming.

Akihiko sighs as he looks up at the sky, "That looks fun. Lucario, think we can make it to the next town before that hits?"

Lucario stops walking and looks up at the sky. He gives a soft huff before shaking his head.

Akihiko drops his shoulders a bit and groans, "Aww man... Cant take pidge either. Too dangerous to be in the air with those clouds. How about if we hop this fence and try to take a short cut? I dont see any pokemon in the field so a straight shot will save us an hour."

Lucario looks at the fence before looking at his trainer giving a shrug.

Aki chuckles, "Good enough for me~" He runs up to the fence and hops over it easily, lucario already on the other side

A thunder of hooves drowns out any sound, and Sato cuts off a straying tauros trying to break free from the group. As they get nearer to the house he sees a...person? He swears, seeing that they're heading straight towards him. He spurs rapidash forward, who also sees the danger and whinnies, charging towards the front of the group and turning them in time to miss the man. Sato reins the fire pokemon back as the tauros keep going towards the barn, looking at the redhead on the ground, " what the hell do you think you're doing? this is private land, and you could have gotten hurt!"

Aki had given a loud shriek from the commotion, flinching and closing his eyes tightly, "I- I just wanted to take a short cut! I'm sorry!"

Lucario had immediately stepped between his trainer and the tauros, prepared to use close combat on them, however waited patiently when the rapidash stopped them. His eyes still glowed, ready to attack if need be if he felt aki was in any danger.

Sato sighs softly, " sorry, just having that close of a call tends to make me a bit tense." he raises an arm as the wind whips into his face, " this is no time to be talking, we need to get out of this weather. hop on! i'll get these guys in the barn and get us to the house! we can talk about why you're out here after." he holds a hand out, obviously wanting to pull the other up onto rapidashs back to sit behind him.

Feeling no immediate threat, lucario gives a soft grumble before backing off and crossing his arms, looking at Aki

Aki dusts himself off a bit before huffing, "Yeah, no thanks. Im not getting on that thing. I'm going to the town over and talking to you is wasting precious time. Im sorry i crossed on to your land but I just need to get to the next town."

Lucario rolls his eyes and shakes his head

Sato rolls his eyes, " there's no way you're gonna outrun that storm. now don;t be stupid!" he reaches down and grabs the others arm, yanking him up.

[MissyLooni]

Aki gives a startled yelp and begins to panic when he gets way too close to rapidash, "NO!! No wait-! I- You cant be serious!! Im gonna be sick! Put me down!!"

Lucario watches, raising an eyebrow, "grrowleh...." He looks at the rapidash and begins explaining his master's deal

The rapidish blinks and looks at the lucario, shaking which makes Sato let go of Aki, " hey, what are you doing girl?" she trots behind Aki and starts pushing him with her nose, heading towards the house while using her body to block to worst of the wind, which grows stronger each passing moment.

Lucario takes aki's backpack and his hand and starts helping in leading him to the house.

Aki stammers and turns bright red, "He-hey lucario! What are you doing?!"

sato grunts but lets the pokemon do what she wants, " alright girl, im trusting you. get us out of this storm in whatever way you think is best. i hope those tauros have the sense to get in the barn." soon the house comes into view and he jumps off the fire pokemon, pressing his forehead to her before taking her tack off and putting it into a waterproof bin outside the house, " get to shelter girl!" he grabs Akis arm and hurries him in the door just as rain starts hitting the ground in fat drops.

Lucario steps inside and closes the door behind him.

Aki huffs, "Man, what is wrong with you!? You shouldnt be bringing random strangers into your house!"

Sato rolls his eyes, " yeah and dumb kids shouldn;t be running around in the middle of a storm. i think a 'thank you for not making me stay out in that storm despite my own stupid stubbornness' might be in order here."

aki snarls, "I aint a kid! I could be a serial killer and you wouldnt even know!"

lucario's expression drops a bit and he sighs before setting his backpack down on a chair gently

Sato rolls his eyes, " yeah, and if you were rapidash would have run you through. not to mention your lucario seems to give lie to that. just settle down will ya? i took you in because it's the right thing to do, nothing more."
