Arakan sighs softly, " he's not in the same position im in. he can afford to allow you to be different, where i need there to be consistency in my people so i can protect you all. If i have to be figuring out new ways to keep the peace, then im not keeping the humans from coming in guns blazing, and im not keeping the higher rank demons appeased."

Takana huffs, "and this kaiten guy? Is he in your position or nikiri's? Because thats what i'm concerned about. I understand nikiri and you.... i get you to a point. But kaiten will be new so of course im tense right now."

Arakan shakes his head, " neither. he has not the freedom or influence Nikiri does, making him able to be as carefree as he is. nor does he have as much responsibility as i do. He is a strong demon from a powerful family however, and ought to be treated as such."

Takana sighs, again, in defeat and continues cooking, "great... you sure you cant just kill me? If im going to die i oddly feel better if it were you to do it."

Arakan snorts, " not happening. I don't kill for fun. I kill people who threaten the peace my family has sacrificed so much to make, and i kill to protect. It's not something i particularly enjoy doing..."

Takana finishes making breakfast, setting a plate of french toast, thick bacon, and some sliced fruit on the side with all the fixens and a fork in front of arakan, "greeeaaaat....welp. then i'll be dead by the end of the day anyway."

Arakan sighs, " please don't. if you die while i've been tasked with keeping you safe, my father might just have to make another heir."

takana sighs, "Why couldnt a high level demon do the patrol and you watch me? Surprisingly I find that a lot safer for me." he makes another plate and sets it down, knowing izanagi will be out soon because his nose was a hound for food

Arakan takes a bite of his food, swallowing before he answers, " because im one of the highest ranked demons in the district, and i have the most authority after my father. im taking the night shift, he takes the day shift. that way one of us is available at all times. Plus there's very few demons that can ever go toe to toe with me and win, so having me out on the streets at night during the highest risk time means im there if needed."

Izanagi soon comes out, nose to the air and sits at his spot, shoveling food down.

takana rubs his face, "This is going to be painful... like i said.... i will give a genuine effort.... but i make no promises."

Arakan nods, " i appreciate that you will make an effort." he keeps eating.

Izanagi blinks, " what's wrong?"

takana looks at izanagi and frowns, "Im getting a new babysitter and i might have to suck his ego. needless to say, i am not hopeful."

Izanagi blinks and snorts, " if he's hot i'll suck more than just his ego~"

Arakan sighs, " well that'll put you on his good side most likely. lets not discuss this while im trying to eat?"

takana makes a grossed out face as he stares at izanagi, "Well.... if i fuck up i know i can at least count on you to distract him. ANYWAY." he goes to grab his own plate of food and sits down, eating as well

Arakan snorts softly in amusement, then his phone chimes and he looks at it, " speak of the devil..." he gets up and heads to the front of the apartment, meeting Kaiten out there and leading him inside, " Kaiten, this is Takana, he's who you will be guarding. Izanagi is the other E rank, they live and work together so you'll be around them both."

He looks at Takana without expression, " right..."

Arakan finishes his plate and puts it in the sink, " i expect him to remain alive. Takana, Izanagi has my number if you need anything. I'll be back tonight."
