Topic: To Cross That Line (Namari x Missylooni)

[Namari]

Karim blinks and nods, " very well. you are welcome to stay in my shop as long as you like."

Arakan clears his throat, " when you are finished here, we should either get food or start on the gardens."

[MissyLooni]

Isabelle looks at arakan and nods before looking at Karim, "I do apologize but we are on a bit of a tight schedule.  Next time I come out I will make sure to have a much more thorough review of your store." She looks at arakan, "where would you like to focus our time to next?"

[Namari]

Karim nods, " of course."

Arakan looks at her, " depends, are you hungry? we'll have a good bit of work ahead i presume with gardening, so making sure you're fueled up may be the best option."

[MissyLooni]

she looks at arakan and nods, "it is difficult to do hard work when you are lacking of sustenance. The cafe then?"

[Namari]

Arakan nods, " sounds like a good idea to me." he starts leading the way to the cafe.

Izanagi is flouncing around as usual in his short and frilly maid outfit.

Isabelle glances around as she walks next to arakan, curious about the district since it is her first time here.

Takana happily follows behind them, humming happily

Arakan keeps to the nicer areas of the district, though even here the buildings are obviously worn and neglected. faded peeling paint and exposed brick are a common sight. broken windows are boarded over instead of fixed. soon they reach the cafe, done up more cheerfully than most places though the wear can be seen under bright adornments. " and here we are, one of the few places for rest and relaxation here. regretfully not as many of our people can enjoy it as i'd like, but i try to keep it as accessible as possible." he opens the door and stands aside to let her through, a gesture fairly common for humans, but one that has a lot of demons staring as their heir shows this level of respect to a anyone, let alone a human.

Izanagi glances over and blinks, " oh Takana and that human girl, you're here. we've got an open table by the window." he waves to a table he's just cleared.

[MissyLooni]

Isabelle steps into the cafe and nods at arakan, "thank you for inviting me here." She had to show her own amount of respect towards arakan. It was critical to make sure she gave equal respect with so many eyes on her, "it is a lovely place. "
She sees izanagi and blinks in confusion. She's about to ask if that table is an okay spot to sit however Takana quickly takes her hand and begins bringing her over.

Takana doesn't hesitate and drag isabelle to the table, "thanks izanagi! Guess what? Isabelle was able to save my mother's cookbook! All the foods that you love are technically my mothers so with that cookbook I'll be able to make more delicious foods for the restaurant! Especially if we get the gardens going! Fresh produce that come from here! It'll be higher quality and cheap!"

[Namari]

Izanagi blinks and his eyes go a bit wide, " food that's even better? how is that even possible?!" he sets a few menus down on the table.

Arakan sits, " order whatever you please, it will be covered. you are here as my guest after all. In the meantime, iced coffee, black."

Izanagi nods, " of course." he scurries off to tell Hikari before going back over to the table.

[MissyLooni]

Isabelle looks up at arakan, "are you sure? I'd prefer to spend money if I can. But if you insist. Does your establishment practice tipping at all? If so I can at least tip your workers."

[Namari]

Arakan waves a hand, " you've spent a good deal, and there will be time for that another time. it's more important you have a good experience and are nourished for the work you plan to do. your good word bringing in humans will do more than you alone can, as well as if growing our own produce works out. we don't have a tipping economy, if one can't afford to pay their workers, then their business isn't viable. i would not stop you if you wished to however."

[MissyLooni]

Isabelle nods, "you're too kind, and I appreciate it very much. I wish more businesses paid their workers well instead of having them rely on tippers and I on ask because there are some parts of the world where tipping is considered offensive as it implies that the business can't afford to pay is workers so I didn't want to potentially offend without realizing. "

[Namari]

Arakan sighs, " im not so proud as to refuse my employees an extra tip for good work. im one of the few people who has decent access to income, so if i can't pay my employees, then how can i expect anyone else to?"

[MissyLooni]

"In almost every aspect of your life you have the responsibility to go above and beyond for the sake of your people." She looks him in the eyes for a minute, really studying him before looking down at her menu, "I really do hope our plan works. It's clear to me as to why Takana is so insistent on us working together."

Takana turns a little red before looking away,  "don't say anything else isabelle, it's embarrassing. A-anyways, arakan do you want any curry or ramen? I can make it myself as long as I'm here."

[Namari]

He glances at her and holds her eyes for a long minute, not wavering or changing expression. When she looks down he also looks away, " humans don't understand the way we do things, it's my responsibility to protect and provide for my people. all demon communities are supposed to run this way, but a lot has changed. This is the only way i can see that prevents an uprising." He glances over at Takana, " Curry."
