Arakan raises an eyebrow, " i'll be damned, you actually remembered that. yeah, the kids are going to love that. they don;t get meat often."

Yori blinks, " a shelter? like, a homeless shelter?"

Indigo nods and steps back to follow the group.

Takana looks at ypri and nods, "Yeah kind of. It's mostly filled with mothers and children who have suffered after one of the monthly inspections if I remember correctly." Takana looks at arakan and nods, "of course! I do my best to keep my promises!"

Isabelle's face softens and she nods at takana, "that is very kind of you. I figured you had a good reason for wanting all of this meat."

Arakan nods, " yes, it's nearly always the adult male in the family that suffers, they are far more likely to be extra careful of their wife and kids, but overlook themselves. there have been cases where it was otherwise, but usually a close relative will take the kids since the fathers often are not as good at raising them, and of course if a child is killed the family grieves but their financial stability is not effected. is it the ones that are widows with children who need the most aid."


Yori stares at Arakan with wide eyes, looking at Takana, "...what?"

Takana winces a little, giving arakan a quick glance before looking at yori, "y-yeah unfortunately that's the truth. Saw it myself. I was hoping to tell you a bit more gently but yeah."

[Namari]

Yori blinks, looking down as he walks, " oh..."


Arakan shrugs, " it's life here." He walks into the apartment and sets the two bags of meat onto the table.

Takana wraps his arm around yori's shoulders as they walk, "I'm glad you guys were able to come over. I really have missed you guys."

Isabelle steps inside the apartment and curiously looks around from where she's standing

Izanagi rushes over to the bags and rummages through curiously, " ooo, this stuff looks good. i've never seen big hunks of meat like this before. well, not like, for cooking anyway." he sniggers softly.

Yori sits on the couch.

Arakan takes at seat at the table.

Takana gives izanagi a look, "well some of it is for us. The rest of it is for the shelter families. Maybe if we can get another haul of meat over in the future we can make some meals out of it for the rest of the people here."

Isabelle hums, "we should wait on that until Curtis is working so that I am not questioned about my bags."

Takana nods, "that or maybe see if Curtis knows someone who is equally trust worthy to pass through the gates with. I feel bad that we do so many things when he's working that could get him in trouble."

[Namari]

Izanagi pouts, " what if i don't wanna share?"

Arakan sighs, " regretfully i don't know of many who would be pleased about decent supplies coming in. though you may be able to bribe those that deliver our supplies in to allow you to stash the things you wish to smuggle in with our normal deliveries. there are other ways we can smuggle things in without bribery, but it is more dangerous for my people."

[MissyLooni]

Takana nods,  "Yeah I don't want to endanger your people... I also don't want to accidentally get Curtis fired and we lose our only decent guard. "

[Namari]

" indeed. regretfully bribery is usually the best way, money makes things happen. and we have little of that to spare so we can rarely use it to gain a voice. If higher than e ranks were permitted out of the district i could make some progress by sending Indigo and his family out mineral hunting, but they're too strong for the humans to trust."

Indigo chuckles, " yeah... i wish we could be let out to go gem hunting. not gonna lie, sitting here smelling that jewelry is torture."

[MissyLooni]

Isabelle blinks and looks down at her necklace, "this old thing?"
She pulls her hair up briefly and removes the necklace, "my apologies. I keep forgetting that you can smell such things."
She goes over to indigo and holds it out to him, "here, as thanks for watching over my visits."

[Namari]

Indigo blinks, " i can;t possibly take that! it is not your fault my kind are able to smell gems." he waves his hands frantically.

[MissyLooni]

Isabelle shrugs, "to me it's just a necklace. A simple accessory to my overall appearance. For you however these gems are so much more than that. I can always get a new necklace." She is still holding it out to indigo

Takana snorts softly as he pits away most of the meat aside from what he's gonna use to make dinner, "I'd just take it indigo. Otherwise she may get offended."

[Namari]

Indigo makes a noise of protest, looking between Isabelle and Takana before giving up and taking it, " your generosity is truly boundless. This will be an incredible treat for my entire family. though i'll admit i can't wait myself." he breaks a small length of the chain off and pops it into his mouth, chewing with an obviously very contented look on his face.
