" i know. but politics. these matters need to be handled carefully." he snorts softly, " as if i'd be interested in you. enjoy your shift."

Curtis snorts, "that's why I'm saying I gotta leave asap. And no, I don't plan on enjoying my shift." He leaves back to his post

Arakan shakes his head and heads back home.

Korri sets all the tools she'll need for Touhous tongue restoration out, making sure everything is well in order.

Touhou is up and looks pretty nervous at the tools being laid out.
How in the world was he this terrified about this? He asked for it after all. It's not like it was corrin putting his head into the walls...

Korri grabs a cup of tea she had brewed and sets it in front of him, " drink, it'll help dull the pain. i will be trimming away the scar tissue, and then applying my blood to the area to stop the bleeding and begin cell regeneration. then daily you'll need to drink more of my blood in order to keep the process going. with the size and complexity of the tongue, it'll probably take about a week to fully regrow. i can give you herbal mixes to help reduce the pain, but it will feel like the regenerating cells are aflame. that's just how phoenix regeneration is. but, once it's done, it will be as if you never lost it to begin with. we can begin whenever you are ready."

Touhou keeps going paler as korri keeps talking. Damn,  it sounds incredibly grotesque...
He hesitantly takes the cup, his hands shaking a little.
He sighs and tries his best to calm down before chugging the drink

She watches and then hands over a device to keep his mouth open, " don;t need you biting me on reflex. i will be using my ability to slow your bloodflow and reduce pain as well. this part should be relatively mild. try to relax as much as possible, it won;t take me long." she takes a syringe and draws some of her own blood, putting it into a bowl with a small brush.

Touhou sees the device and whines softly. He had to put this on too?? How was this more terrifying than dealing with corrin?
He grumbles softly and does his best to get the device in his mouth.
He hopes he gets a table to lie on or else he's going to pass out standing up

Korri makes sure he has it in properly and gently pushes him towards the metal table where her supplies are, a bright light over it, " lie down. i know you're getting nervous, but the painkillers i've given you will mean it's not so bad. and i will continue to give you painkillers to keep it dulled." he grabs a forceps and a very sharp looking scissors, " do try not to move too much, i'd like to remove the scar tissue with as few of cuts as possible."

all touhou can do is close his eyes tightly and breathe out his nose in a response.

She focuses and slows the bloodflow to what's left of his tongue, numbing it at the same time. She then quickly gets to work grasping the thing and snipping bits of scar tissue off. every few snips she applies a brush of her blood to it, then continues on. After about 20 minutes of careful snipping and work, she sets her tools down, brushes one last bit of blood onto there and steps back, " you're done. drink the rest of this, and then we'll give you some more painkilling tea that'll put you to sleep and you can go rest." she hands him the bowl with the remainder of her blood and a cooled mug of herbal tea to drink.

touhou slowly sits up and removes the device very carefully before taking the cup, looking pale when he realizes its blood. oh geeze gross...
he sighs softly and does what he's told, quickly forcing the blood down before grabbing the mug of tea and drinking that quickly

Korri makes sure he downs all of it and then gently guides him to his room, " now we just wait and work on upkeep. the hardest part is over."

touhou gently keeps a grip on korri as he walks back to his room. not out of weakness or the numbing tea but out of the sudden feeling of relief that the scariest part was over and his adrenaline crashing, "ah..." he wanted to just nap for the rest of his life after that

Korri gently gets him to the room and to the bed. She places a small bell next to it, " ring that if you need me dear. Now sleep."
