Yori shudders, " that's terrifying..."

Nikiri nods, "yeah its unfortunate but it hasnt happened since."

Yori shakes his head, " it's amazing you're so calm about it even though you almost died. what if he hadn't gotten there so quickly? what if the other demon went for the kill right away?"

Nikiri hums softly, "a lot of what if's. To be fair what's done is done and if I linger on the thought I'll cloud my focus. I did get the boys to a high enough roof that they should have had time to run inside and hide. If I had died then it would have been an inconvenience to the district being down one translator."

Yori looks up at him quickly, " you're worth more than that! your sisters would be devastated, and your mother would be as well."

Nikiri blinks before giving a soft smile, "yes I'm sure you're right about my family. I suppose living a life where anyone could die any day has made us a bit numb in some aspects."

Yori winces slightly, " im sorry... i wish i could help change that more. it's awful, and i want to help..."

Nikiri ruffles the top of yori's head, "it's alright. It's slowly being worked on. And when restrictions ease up in sure being able to help us will be easier."

Yori sighs softly, normally he'd protest being treated like a kid but he felt like he was one at the moment. " at least i can use dads money to get you guys some basic stuff for now..."

Nikiri nods, "yes and I appreciate it greatly. While you may feel like it's a small gesture it really is appreciated."

Yori nods, " i know, it's all i can do, but im glad it's helping at least a little bit."

"It is helping. Korri was pretty interested in the items you brought over."

Yori perks up, " that's good. i hope those supplements help your mother feel better."

"Agreed. It would be nice if our home wasn't cluttered with chairs just in case she collapses."

Yori nods, " yeah..." he shivers, " how much further? it's dark, i can;t tell where we are."
