Arakan raises an eyebrow, " like you asked him to hit you? no apology needed, it was not your doing in any way, and it was even beneficial in the long run. there's no reason for me to think any less of you over the situation. though i'd appreciate if you didn;t steal Indigo away from guard duty quite so often." he grins at her a bit to show he's teasing.

Isabelle blushes a little and looks away, "I admit, me taking him out on a date the other day was all me. I couldn't help myself. It's been a long time since I was taken out on a date. Luckily for you I didn't come here today to steal him away from work."

Arakan chuckles, " soon i'll be able to let him go more often, i do approve of the match by the way. he's just good with humans, so he's been important to me to have at guard duty. As the guards get more comfortable, and humans get more comfortable, i'll be able to have a larger number of them so they can switch out more often. then you can steal him away all you like."

Isabelle hums softly and rubs her arm, "I'm glad you approve.  Admittedly... I was very skeptical of indigo in general. I thought it was too coincidental what with him being an alicanto and my mother's mining site becoming my property once she passes. That and the way Indigo acted around me... it felt at first that he was being a try hard to get in my good graces so that he could claim something that is important to them." She looks up at arakan, "however it seems as though my initial concern and assumptions were unfair and biased. I'll have to have this conversation with him as well so that I may apologize to him. "

Arakan blinks, " well, i didn;t know that your family owned mines, and that information isn't readily available here, we're too stupid to need any of that after all, so i doubt he even knew that. as for him trying too hard, it's their culture to honor women, so he simply was following that. I don;t think he'll be offended considering everything you were going through."

Isabelle nods, "and I didn't know in the beginning that you weren't allowed information. It doesn't make you guys stupid...despite what some humans might say. But yes, his initial vibe was something that made me immediately put walls up because of my experiences. I feel better about the relationship now, of course, but back then it really annoyed me."

Arakan chuckles, " i know you know we're not stupid, i was mostly being cynical. He of course has adapted, because honoring women also means treating them how they're comfortable being treated, even if that doesn;t always align with what he knows to be proper behavior. At first he was assigned to you as a guard, so having a comfortable relationship was important to that, but he does genuinely like you. you're a good human, i hope you know that."

Isabelle sighs softly, "I try to be a decent person... I think having a father like mine helps you realize from a young age that monsters can be anyone. Oh. Before I forget, there is a shipment coming in at the end of the week for the market."

She opens her briefcase again and pulls out a sheet of paper with an inventory list, "there is a few bags of gems, one bag has Karims name on it for his dresses and the others go to indigo. Then there are a few crates of something extra I paid for. It's for the kids of the district and whoever else may be interested. It's art supplies. Paper, crayons, pencils, paints of all kinds. It's an add on gift that was too heavy to carry so the driver agreed to just bring it over with the rest of the usual supply."

Arakan listens carefully to her list of things, taking the paper, " art supplies? I mean I'm sure the kids will enjoy it, but are you sure? That's probably costing you quite a bit. Karim will I believe be paying you back for the gems shortly, he raked in quite the hoard from what I understand, though he hasn't said exactly how much. And Indigo I believe also wishes to start trying to export their hair gems and feathers to start a cycle so they can afford their own scrap metal and gems instead of relying so much on your generosity."

Isabelle nods, "I'm positive about the art supplies. For sapphire and all of the other kids that can't draw a rainbow with actual colors. I sold off a large sum of my jewelry since it was mostly gifts from Makoto that I don't want to look at anymore so that money will pad my pocket for some fun for a while."

Arakan hums softly, " not to mention you'll get a good price from Karim that will help keep you flush too. And Indigo doesn't need premium cut gemstones, if we can get discards from gem cutting, flawed rejects, and such, then he can give back perfect gems in turn. It's an excellent trade. I'll have to arrange a day to ration out the art supplies. You're welcome to join for that, I'm sure the kids will be excited."

Isabelle nods, "I would love to. I would love the kids to know that... while they shouldn't trust every human I am at least a safe person."

Arakan nods, " we'll work on that, especially since I have a feeling you'll be spending more time here. I wish he could go to spend time with you as well but that's how it is."

Isabelle smiles, "it's alright. On days where indigo is busy I can still come over and play with sapphire."

Arakan nods, " indeed, I'm sure her brothers are happy for a bit of a break, and she gets a new playmate. You're welcome to be here anytime you like, I like having a heads-up so I can keep an eye out for danger, but if you've got that hairpin I gave you you know how you can get help if something happens." He reads over the inventory sheet, " looks like you managed to convince them to send us some good stuff again. That'll help."
