Izanagi pales, " that's the 10 minute warning." he quickly heads for the door, " come on!"

Takana yelps and quickly hurries after izanagi

Izanagi grabs Takana's hand and pulls him to their spot, standing in line quietly and tensely, looking at the armed men at the end of the street.

Arakan stands with an older man, who has a wild mane of red hair and black curled horns, as well as black spiraling marks down the left side of his face as the two watch the armed humans, overseeing the inspection as heads of the district.

Takana wasnt shocked to see so many demons lined up, but he was shocked at just how quiet everything was. It wasn't a peaceful quiet either. It was a tense, almost threatening silence that demanded respect. A quiet before the storm you could say.

One armed man was positioned at the very front middle of the group and he carried no gun. Instead he held what looked to be a tablet, large enough to require two hands.
He began his walk down the street, the armed soldiers walking with him in unison as they held their large, over powered military weapons close to their body, fingers already on the trigger in hopes of using it.

The man with the device never looks up to look at the demons, eyes focused on the screen as it feeds him information on who gets to live and who gets to die, his steps slow and precise.

Arakan and the other demon stay where they are, both watching the human group intently.

The tablet makes a sharp beep as it passes in front of a small family, two young boys huddled against their parents with fear in their eyes. You can see the man instantly blanch, hand darting up to his collar. The mother steps forward, " please forgive us, our youngest son's collar burned out at the same time my husbands did and we couldn't afford to replace them both... it'll be replaced as soon as we can afford it i swear!"

the guy with the tablet doesnt even look up as he simply points at the father, not acknowledging them or their words.

three of the armed soldiers walk over and grab the dad, throwing him roughly into the streets, making sure to knock him to the ground, and away from the other demons.

Takana frowns and suddenly feels his stomach churn. what are they doing? why were these guards being forceful? they were only supposed to protect the other humans that had to enter, not have a power trip over a collar.

The woman screams and starts to lunge after her husband.

Arakan tenses and starts towards the men, before the older man next to him grabs him and with a look directs his attention to the woman before letting him go. Arakan nods and is next to the woman in a flash, holding her back and speaking in her ear too quietly for anyone but her to hear. The elder demon strides towards the men, " they're new to the district, im aware the protocol allows no exceptions, however i ask you to reconsider in this situation." he looks relaxed, trying to appear non-threatening.

The man finally breaks his gaze from his tablet to look at the demon and snorts, "The rules dont change just because its a different district. All districts follow the same rules so this shouldnt be new to them. Now Step. Back."

A couple of other demons nearby the family gently hold on to the children as well, not wanting them to get hurt either

" Im aware the rules are the same. what i mean is they haven't had much time to settle in and earn some extra money to be able to account for such an unfortunate circumstance as two collars wearing out at the same time. " He stands his ground, meeting the mans gaze calmly. He was pushing it, but he was about the only one that could get away with this.

the man waves his hand dismissively, "We make an exception for one and then everyone is coming up with an excuse. Rules are rules and if they really were struggling then that just means you failed at keeping them safe. now step back before we decide to make an example and take out the whole family."

Takana's ears twitch and he frowns. take out? as in... as in kill?! they cant just DO that!! Takana quickly turns pale and he feels sick

The demons eyes flash in rage as he steps back, " Of course." He doesn't take his eyes off them, he'd failed to earn their trust that they'd come to him with their issue, and now he was not about to look away from the consequences. Damn the humans...

Arakan faces the woman away from her husband, rage flashing in his eyes as he watches.

Izanagi looks down at his feet, eyes squeezed shut.

One soldier aims right at the dad's head and unloads his gun into the demons head

Everyone flinches when the shots are fired before looking down

Arakan growls low and makes a move towards the humans before a look from his father stops him, and he settles for simply glaring at the heartless men.

The elder demon looks down at the body, he'd seen too many by now to really be traumatized by it, " the whole round is a bit overkill for d class. Step aside please." He waves the men off the body before he looks at the body and it alights, flames crackling as they reduce the corpse to ashes.

the guy quickly finishes scanning for other collars, knowing things are tense after every kill and when the tablet doesnt alert him to any other broken collars he begins his walk back to the gate with his men

The elder demon escorts them to the gate, making sure they all leave before heading back and barking orders, " see that she's taken to the community quarters with her children. They'll be taken care of there. damn it, i should have checked in with them personally... Arakan, make sure there's no unrest. The last thing we need is people to get stirred up and give those monsters a reason to kill more."

Arakan nods, " of course. i'll make sure it's taken care of."

"Good. i need to go take care of the damn paperwork for this." he turns and stalks off towards the Yamamoto estate.

Izanagi slowly turns and heads back towards their apartment.
