Takana blinks and frowns, "wouldn't the fact that we're all getting our collars checked tip off the humans? Or do those workers not not report back as much?"

Arakan runs a hand through his hair, " it might, and it probably will, but what else can i do? if they don;t get them checked then the chances of collar failure between now and then goes up. it's my job to ensure the chances of anyone dying is as low as possible, and those damned humans seem to want to kill as many as they can!"

[MissyLooni]

takana's ears lower and he frowns before going back to his phone, texting fast, "What if we can get our hands on a collar scanner ourselves? could we also scan the demons and keep it on the down low? I know you guys arent supposed to.... technically have such a device but they arent supposed to do surprise searches either..."

[Namari]

Arakan frowns, " but can we get our hands on such a thing? they're pretty strict about keeping things like that away from us. scanners, collar removers, those aren;t things we're supposed to be able to have. i mean that would be ideal, but i doubt we can get it."

[MissyLooni]

takana sighs, "I am going to try. if we had a few more days i could make one since you have the schematics on that usb drive but i dont think i can make one in less than one day in order to start scanning everyone."

[Namari]

Arakan sighs, pacing, " this is so gods damned fucked up..."

[MissyLooni]

takana hears his phone go off and he looks at his phone, "if we get to the gate before the next security shift, so asap, then curtis can give us a scanner. but we cant say anything to ANYONE."

[Namari]

Arakan blinks and frowns, " he would do that? nevermind, lets go. Izanagi will be fine here alone for a little bit. I can go faster if i go alone, but i presume you need to be the one to get it." he quickly heads for the door, " turn the stove off. we don't want to burn the building down."

Takana moves the pan to the side and turns off the stove before quickly running out the door, "Yeah the only reason why he is doing this is because he told me to leave and i refused so this is the only other way he can make sure i am safe."

[Namari]

Arakan nods, " figures. well whatever his fixation on you is, it may save other lives." he starts to run as well, making sure not to outpace Takana as he heads for the gates.

[MissyLooni]

Takana shrugs,  "I mean,  despite him lying to me we were still in a relationship for 4 years so I'm sure there still is some feelings in there that I am willing to exploit."

[Namari]

Arakan shakes his head, " i wonder how he could have dated a demon for 4 years and still be the arrogant prick he is. perhaps because you weren;t raised among us he sees you differently."

Takana huffs, "well if you took a pair of Halloween cat ears on a person you would basically have me so I'm sure it wasn't hard for me."

They get to the gate just in time to see Curtis walk up and relieve the current guard, knowing the actual next guard wouldn't show up for the next few minutes.

He looks a bit nervous holding an adorably large blue teddy bear

Takana's eyes widen, "Jack? You brought the teddy bear you won at the fair 2 years ago?"

Curtis huffs and hands takana the bear, "it belongs with its owner."

Takana huffs, "you said you were-" as he's handed the bear he feels how heavy it is and his eyes widen. He gingerly flips the bear over and you can clearly see a poor sew job on his back, and takana snarls, "Oh you asshole. Shoulda figured you would literally stab a back after you figuratively stabbed mine."

Curtis looks tired and fed up,  "I'm sorry I didn't tell you about her but you really need to get over what happened. I'm helping you right now even though I could get in huge shit for this."

[Namari]

Arakan rolls his eyes and gently moves takana away, " lets not bite the hand helping us. thank you."

Takana pouts and huffs before backing up, grumbling.

Curtis gives arakan a half hearted glare, "just don't let this get back to me. I don't want to get punished for this."
