Indigo sets the coffee firmly in front of her. " i'd have made it to your liking but im not aware how that is yet. As for seeing the healer, i think the items you've had smuggled in with no small inconvenience to yourself has helped clear you from the association of that name. you may carry the name, but if my own knowledge is correct it was mainly the men of the family that directed their actions. I don't presume to speak for our lady healer, i only offer the chance to go see her and allow her to decide for herself what she deems appropriate. I think Arakan would agree what you've done is worth taking you there, what happens after is entirely her prerogative. And just because one has become accustomed to something, does not make it right. As im sure you would agree in other cases, such as our own."

She blinks, looking at the coffee before hesitantly taking the sugar and dumping an impressive amount into the cup and stirring before adding a bit of milk, "thank you. I do prefer coffee sweet. I may need the caffeine to keep me functioning in the morning however I don't believe in suffering through the bitter taste." She gently blows on it before taking small sips, "and it's not just the family I married into that is problematic. My own father... my maiden name has its own scars that affected this district heavily. It's bad enough that if I were to legally separate from my husband's family I wouldn't be able to bring myself to reclaim my family's name. I would pick a new name entirely. "

Indigo gets his own cup and adds just a bit of milk to it before sitting across from her. " and tell me, what makes you think that the children should be punished for the acts of the parents? From what i am hearing, you yourself have not been part of the harms caused by either family." he takes a sip of his coffee, " as for disliking the bitterness of coffee as a caffeine source, that's understandable."

"I may not have actively contributed to the damage they have done, but I also didn't stop them by any means..."
She stares at her cup of coffee, frowning at her own reflection.

Takana had woken up by this point. He didn't leave his room though. He stayed laying down, his ears twitching as he listened to isabelle's and indigo's conversation

Indigo tilts his head, " and pray tell, how would you have stopped it? You are young yet, and from my understanding most humans are under the impression that the methods used against us are needed. Even if you did realize it was wrong, it is not easy to go against our elders, especially those who have raised us and have a natural authority over us. And even if you had, the way things are few humans would have listened. You are not responsible for the actions of others, even if they are related to you."

Isabelle looks up at indigo and sighs softly, taking another sip of coffee, "my father is non other than Byron Ophylious Goodman. The inventor of those damned collars when he was much younger. Although it was society that taught me that there was nothing problematic with the collars. If he were to tell me about the good they would do I wouldn't have believed him. I always thought he was a monster growing up, just wished I did some critical thinking before...so I'm sorry that it hurts for you to fly..." She goes quiet for a moment. Waiting for indigo's reaction. She was always ashamed of her family for personal reasons and now that she knew just how much damage the collars did the guilt practically consumed her. It made her feel like... Makoto was right about her.

Indigo listens and looks at his coffee for a long moment, " i would be lying if i said i did not hate your father and these collars with a passion." he lifts a hand to his collar, touching it gently, " but you are not your father. this was not your doing, and even with the hatred i feel towards him, none of it spills over onto you. and you are so kind hearted and empathetic, i have no doubt if you had the ability, you would free us all in a heartbeat. you are not to blame for what he did." he reaches over and takes her hand gently, bringing it to his lips and placing a gentle kiss onto her fingers. " you are the most kind and caring person i have ever met in my life. nobody with a speck of sense will blame you for your fathers misdeeds."

Isabelle's eyes start to water and before she can stop herself or pull away to shield her face tears start streaming down her face, her eyes locking with indigo's in stunned silence, "i-..."

Indigo let's her hand go and scoots his chair over next to her, carefully wrapping his arms around her and pulling her in for a hug, " shhh, you don't need to say anything. I've got you, it's alright."

Isabelle freezes briefly, unsure at first what she should do. Besides takana and yori she doesnt really.... get hugs. Another person hasnt hugged her for so long that the feeling of indigo hugging her felt so foreign.
She relaxes a little, the feeling of warmth becoming comforting and she cant help but gently hold indigo, her face becoming warm and wet. A soft sniffle escapes her before she pushes her face against indigo, hiding herself in his grasp

Indigo at first wonders if he made a mistake as she tenses up, but then as she relaxes he knows he was right. He gently rubs her back, " you're not responsible for the evils of the world, you don't need to carry all that weight yourself. It's alright to let yourself feel, and even to be vulnerable." He murmurs softly, not giving a single shit that he's getting tears and snot on his shirt.

She takes a deep breath to steadies her emotions, sighing softly, "um... sorry... I... I hear that from Yori and Takana a lot but they're family to me so its just... different hearing it from someone new..."

Indigo nods, " understandable. and there's no need to apologize, you've done nothing wrong. im glad i could be here to help you."

Arakan comes in, carrying bags with a bunch of containers in them. He hesitates when he sees the two cuddling, " ...i can leave if i've interrupted something?" he then sees Isabelles puffy eyes and his eyes narrow, " what did you do to make her cry?" a slight growl enters his voice.

Isabelle had quickly pulled away as soon as she heard arakan mention 'interrupting' something and wipes her eyes quickly, "um no- no he didnt make me cry i um... its just been a hard week, im fine now. If anything he said something very kind."

Arakan studies her carefully and then looks at Indigo for a long moment before setting the bags on the table. " since you say so i will leave it at that then. we'd better wake the boys for breakfast."

Indigo gets up and goes to get some tissues, setting them in front of her before taking his seat again. " apologies for the misunderstanding."

Arakan heads to takana's room and knocks, " breakfast you two."

Yori jolts a bit and grumbles, " five more minutes..."
