Link stops abruptly at an animal stall. A large pen filled with cuckoo's clucking happily. His eyes light up and he points excitedly at the corner of the pen where all the babies huddle together

Ike blinks and laughs softly, " you brought me all this way to look at baby chickens? well i'll admit they're adorable." he shakes his head and looks at the merchant, pulling the token out and buying a small bag of seed. He tosses a handful in and watches the babies attack the food, handing the rest of the bag to Link.

Link gasps softly and takes the bag, the baby chickens immediately pressing up against the gate to get as close to link as possible. He smiles and chuckles softly before tossing some to the chickens, listening to their squawking and peeping noises

Ike laughs softly and enjoys watching the look on Links face as the chickens and chicks swarm to him to get the food. He looks at the younger, " you really never thought of buying a little food to give to them? well, im sure there's plenty of other critters that merchants would love to get paid for them to be fed." he snickers, knowing he was kind of scamming himself but not caring. the look on the others face was worth it.

Link shakes his head. He sets the feed down briefly to take ikes hand, "never had the time. Id always finish the skewers and almost immediately I would have to go back to the castle to get ready for training. I would see the cuckoos on my way back and it always made me think of home."

Ike concentrates to interpret the writing, " ah... cuckoos? is that what you guys call them? interesting... well for the time being we'll have time, after all we all need to heal up and regroup before any fighting."

"you guys need to heal. I'm fine"

[Namari]

Ike rolls his eyes, " you may not have much for physical injuries, but mental ones are far more dangerous. a solider missing a leg can keep fighting, and remain a threat, however one whos spirit has been broken can be perfectly healthy and yet is no threat at all."

Link flinches slightly, his eyes narrowing before he repeats himself, his finger pressing a little harder in to ikes hand, "I'm fine!"

Ike frowns and pulls his hand away to poke the other in the forehead, " look, you might be able to bullshit everyone else, but i've lead too many men for too many years to not see the signs and to not know how hard that kind of thing can be on someones mental state. insist all you want, but you really should be getting some sort of therapy. in lieu of that, i'll have to do. so get used to it."

Link swats ike's hand away angrily before storming off

Ike sighs and follows him, keeping the other in sight.

Link glances behind him and scowls when he sees ike following him and he starts to pick up the pace

Ike growls and ignores his side to jog and catch up, grabbing the others shoulder, " stubborn! can;t you see im trying to help you you numbskull?"

Link jerks and shoves Ike away from him, glaring at him
