Link nods and sets his tray down, "I just... wanted to tell you in case something were to happen... I will accept my fate and whatever happens to me but I dont want anyone else to be dragged along with me."

Ike frowns, " hold on now you're talking like you're going to die or something. we're in this together, no way in hell im just going to stand idly by."

Link huffs, "If I get captured again I would prefer if no one else gets captured as well. I want you to step back if it looks like thats the case. They let me go too easy and it concerns me." Link tries his best to smile despite his fear of being captured again, "Besides if you guys get captured too then who is gonna save me?"

Ike makes an unhappy grumble, " well lets just try our best to ensure that doesn;t happen so i don't have to come save your butt. and Sothe doesn;t need to get tackled by you in a dress again." he snickers.

Link turns bright red and looks away, "Oh goddesses that was so embarrassing.... I'd rather forget that entire thing ever happened thank you very much....Lana made it sound like Hyrule actually had a hero who wore such an outfit by choice..."

Ike chuckles softly, " well perhaps he had good reason. like, seducing some guy to save the women he had captured? or something."

Link sticks his tongue out, "Gross. Although if he had a life partner who enjoyed such things I could see that being a thing."

Ike grins, " hey, sometimes as a hero you have to abandon dignity for the good of the people." he coughs and blushes, " well you did look rather adorable in it if it makes you feel any better."

Link blushes and smiles, "Well good to know that I can at least pull something like that off if I ever have that kind of chance with someone..."

Ike slowly looks over at him, " 'if'? you're joking right? you're smart, you're kind, you're great looking, im surprised you don;t have both guys and gals tripping over themselves to have a chance at you."

Link laughs and rubs the back of his head, "They try, dont get me wrong. I get both girls and guys tell me they want to date me but to be honest I turn them all down. I dont....  It's hard for me to trust people and their intentions. They didnt say anything before I turned out to be the hero, but suddenly now that everyone knows who i am I had all these people suddenly fall in love with me? Yeah, no thanks."

Ike rubs his chin, " fair enough. though perhaps knowing you're so generous and brave makes them more courageous and gives them the ability to ask, where's before you were just a handsome guy nobody knew much about. but now that you're the hero, they feel like they know you better from all the stories."

Link frowns, "I may be the reincarnation but I am still my own person. The hero before loved animals more than his own people, he hated vegetables, and was often rude. I'm none of those things. I want people to like... me. Not the stories of the past heroes. I want someone to be my friend because they like my personality. I want to fall in love and not constantly question if they know the hero in the books they read, or the person in front of them." His face turns bright red and he looks down, "I like tea with lots of honey, and watermelon is my favorite fruit, I can actually be a heavy sleeper once im sleeping, I like music and I hate it when people try to start a conversation by mentioning the weather! No one would know that by reading a dumb book!"

Ike nods, " i hear that, they don;t know that though. and because you are the hero, people are going to make assumptions and hear those things, you're too much a part of the history of this world to have otherwise. maybe you need to consider giving them a chance to get to know the real you?"

Link gulps nervously and looks at Ike, "that sounds so unpleasant...."
