Aiden laughs and rubs the back of his head,  "although you gotta know when to stop as well. Askin' is cool but i hate it when someone doesn't stop after the first 'no', ya know? "

Their group of friends chuckle at Caleb's groans before a short girl shakes her head, "caleb why dont'cha just come back to the table. Before we start the next round without ya."

Caleb nods,  "be right there Marzie." He looks at Aiden, "you in or out this round?"

Aiden looks at caleb and smiles, "out. I'm probably gonna get some food in a bit."

Ike grins, " oh i understand totally. i think you and i will get along just fine. Say, i should go fetch some food for myself and Link, i can;t stay and eat with you but care to walk to the mess hall with me? I need to bring Link some food and go check on him, long story short after some asshole broke into his room, he's locked himself in my room and is probably still pretty freaked. but we can chat on the way. if you want to anyway."

Aiden blinks before nodding. He looks back at the others,  "hey i'll see you guys back at the dorms okay?"

The group nods and waves Aiden off, not worried about him at all.

Aiden looks at ike and smiles, "shall we?" He starts walking to the mess hall.

Ike nods, " we shall." he walks next to him. " so, and you don;t have to answer if you don;t want to, but what's your reason for joining the royal guard?"

Aiden shrugs, "im good at fighting and i live here. What more reason should there be?"

[Namari]

Ike chuckles, " well you can sometimes tell quite a bit about someone by their reasons for things like this. i was just curious, i've lived my whole life fighting for one cause or another so it's something that means a lot to me. if im being honest though i prefer he quieter mercenary life rather than the war life. but im not about to sit back and watch as people suffer either, so here i am."

Aiden nods, "that's understandable. I suppose.... i can relate in a way? I cant sit back and watch people suffer either. Caleb used to get picked on a lot. Until i found out about it of course." Aiden glances at ike, "so... you're from a different world, right? What's it like? Does everyone have round ears?"

[Namari]

Ike smiles, " you're a good brother then, taking care of him like that." he nods, " yeah, im from a different world. it's... similar to here, not much magic though. and most people distrust it. No, not everyone. im what's called a Beorc, we, and some Laguz have pointed ears. they're a race of people who can shift to animal forms, though even when they are in their other form they have animal like traits."

Aiden blinks, "interesting. Everyone either has pointy ears or no ears at all around here. Gorons are the big yellow guys and have ear holes but no actual ears. Then there are the Zora. Essentially fish people. They... might have ears? Fins? I dont know. They normally dont come down from their kingdom. Its kinda hard to get to as well so i've personally have never met a zora before."

Ike nods, " interesting. big yellow people and fish people? haven;t really seen any of them yet. Round ears are pretty common in my world. but yeah, lots of things are different. death is more permanent there. you get a fatal wound and you're done, end of story."

Aiden blinks,  his eyes wide,  "what? No second chances? What about potions?"

[Namari]

Ike shakes his head, " don't exist in my world. no fairies either. they're truly a miracle. We plan to try and take the plants home to try and grow them there, even without the fairies the potions would be huge help during battle."

[MissyLooni]

Aiden whistles softly and sighs, "Man that's scary. Granted i heard we only recently got potions again. But i know fairies aren't out and about anymore. Something is happening to them so our battle has become pretty dangerous without the little guys. But you fought a lot without either at your side. It's no wonder why you're so cool."

[Namari]

Ike nods, " yeah, i've been healed by a fairy, took care of the gash i got in my side during the last big fight here." he lifts the side of his shirt to expose the lighter skin of the scar, " not to mention  the healing magic that reduces healing time by weeks if not months." he chuckles softly, " well when your life depends on you being good enough to not get hit, you tend to get pretty good at defense."

They soon get to the mess hall and Aiden grabs a tray, "i heard the Hero is a picky eater."
