Link flinches and seems to snap out of his shock when he hears his name called. he feels like he's about to throw up, and probably looks like it as well. he tries to open his mouth to talk however, when he finds his voice missing he panics before doing the only thing he can think of. He turns around and sprints out of the bar, damn near knocking someone on to their ass.

Ike swears softly and sprints after him, " Wait! hold on!"

link manages to make it back into the castle before making a beeline for the ladder that takes him to the roof, climbing quickly

Ike follows, cursing colorfully the entire way, " damn it slow down! i just want to talk!" he climbs the ladder after Link, determined.

Link gets to the top and slams the hatch open before scrambling to close it, sitting on top of the hatch door, "i-i dont want to talk! please! Just forget anything Iida says! he- he's an asshole after all!!"

Ike tries to open the hatch door and huffs, " you're seriously gonna make me hang onto this ladder while i talk to you? fine. yeah he's an asshole. but is he lying? i just want to know. im not promising anything, but... i don;t want you to avoid me. this is a shit way to find out if it's true, but if it is true you weren;t exactly gonna tell me yourself."

Link sniffles and brings his knees up to his chest, hugging them, "im- im sorry... you were never meant to find out.... i- I just wanted you to... be happy.... im so... so sorry..."

Ike sighs, " how am i supposed to be happy when my friend is avoiding me? and when he's clearly so unhappy himself?"

There was no point in holding the door down anymore since it didn't deter ike from talking, and the handle was uncomfortable to sit on, so link slowly scooted off of the door hatch before hugging his knees to his chest again, "you were happy though.... at least I thought you were. When you were with aiden you seemed happy at first... I just thought.... it was best for everyone. I even went and lived with tergo... I thought my own feelings would go away if I stayed away..."

Ike hears him move and tries the hatch, glad when it opens. he comes up and sits next to Link, " well i guess i was at first. but i've learned he and i have very different ideals, and we're just not compatible i suppose." he chuckles softly, " wish i had known, i woulda told you that they rarely do. had that one happen before, trying to ignore it just makes it worse. im sorry i never noticed, i can be kind of dense. i can't say i hold those same feelings, but i also haven't really thought about it. i'll need some time to process it, but im not opposed to trying to make something work. okay?"

Link shakes his head, tears running down his face, "please don't. I would rather you ignore today... I already know it won't work. You have to leave once you're done here. I just need to find a new way to forget is all... as much of a help iida had become the fucking bastard still broke his side of the deal so there's no way I'm going back to him. "

Ike rubs the back of his neck, " well, back home we have a saying. better to love and lose, than to have never loved at all. It's not a fair comparison, but while i'd give just about anything to get my father back, i'd never trade those years to be able to forget about him. Besides, once you actually have me you might jsut realize im not all that anyway. love is fickle at best. but if you want me to keep my distance, i will."

link wipes his face and sighs, "I... its not that i want you away. Things were just easier before my emotions became an issue. It was fun to share a bed with you and it was fun sparring with you and every time i was around you i felt like i could do anything. i loved being your friend..."

Ike frowns, " well if you avoid me, we can't exactly be friends very easily now can we? i enjoyed all of that as well. im sorry things got more distant between us with me hooking up with Aiden, pushing you away was never my intention."

"...its not... your fault. I just couldnt handle finding out about you and him being together when i first woke up. it was then my decision to push you away. you didnt do anything."
