Ike picks one up and slides it onto his hand flexing his fingers, " this feels damned good. might get these."

Link hums softly before looking at the merchant, "doesn't the oil degrade over time though?"

"Southern boar oil is a lot hardier than you think. These puppies will definitely outlive the owner."

Link hums, "and that's saying something coming from a place with health potions and fairies." He looks at ike, "I'd say go for it. They might help you a lot when you get back home."

Ike nods, " even if they only last a few years, it's still worth it. good equipment can easily be the difference between life and death." he shows the man the token from Zelda.

The man nods, acknowledging the worth of the token.

Link nods, "agreed." He smiles at ike, "I hope it'll be useful for you for longer than a few years then."

Ike nods, " though i never count on it, i hope so as well." he hooks the gauntlets onto his belt, " where to next? the place with the cuckoo things?"

link hums and grins, "Actually yeah I would love to see the cuckoos. i wonder if they have more babies."

" probably. only one way to find out for sure." he grins and starts heading in the direction he remembered them being.

Link happily follows Ike, knowing he's going the right way, "Are you gonna buy me some more feed for them? that was a lot of fun last time~"

Ike chuckles, " well if it was fun last time i'd be a fool to not repeat past successes."

Link nods, "at some point I need to make a trip to the farm. The lil cuckoo you got me while I was out of it is there and I wouldn't mind visiting her. I brought her there since I figured the farm was a much better home than the castle. Alex and Sam fell in love with her pretty much instantly."

Ike chuckles, " oh yeah, forgot about her. glad she's got a good home." he reaches the stall and sees the little yellow fluffy chicks, buying a bag of feed and holding it out to Link.

Link takes a little bit of the feed and tosses some to the babies, chuckling as they topple over themselves to get the extra food.

Ike laughs softly, " greedy little things." he notes one struggling to get a share and scoops him up, taking a handful of feed and letting the little one eat from his hand.

Link sees ike do this and he can't help but smile. It was such a simple yet sweet thing to do for the tiny creature.

Ike lets the chick eat it's fill before letting it down with the others, " looks like he may be the runt of the group. ah well, late hatched or something else kept him a bit weaker, hopefully a full belly gives him a bit more of a fighting chance."
