Ike laughs softly, " well Epona has seemed to be perfectly behaved every time i've been out with her, so if she's a magic horse she's perfect for you. Where's this fellow likes to test me sometimes still, but that's pretty normal." he checks the stomach strap and sees it hanging loose, " see? the little imp held his breath." he snugs it up and mounts the gelding.

Link hums, "Yeah most of these horses tend to have attitude, unlike epona. She's an absolute angel aren't you?" Link reaches over and pets epona.

Epona leans into the pets and she neighs softly, agreeing with her master.

Soren bristles a bit as he watches, if anything, growing more weary, "so she understands you. A horse knows your language."

Link hums, "a magic horse knows my language."

Ike laughs softly, " only the best magic horse for you Soren."

Soren grumbles softly, but he can't stay mad. Epona was a very good horse after all and he didn't want to seem too upset.

Link chuckles and shakes his head

Ike hums to himself as they go, taking in the scenery. Eventually they arrive at the closest spring, and Ike slides off his horse, tying the reins to a nearby branch before going over and helping Soren down.

Soren blushes when ike approaches him and he scoffs, "i-i can get down by myself!!"

Link chuckles as he gets off of his horse and ties it down as well before looking over at them, "well whether you get down yourself or have ike help just make sure you don't tie epona up. She knows to stay close."

Ike shrugs and backs off, " alright alright."

Soren huffs and tries to get down, awkwardly sliding down and trying to reach the ground.

Epona and link share a look before epona slowly lowers herself until soren reaches the ground

Soren feels his feet touch the ground and he quickly turns to look at ike, "see? I got it!"

Epona quickly gets up before soren has a chance to look at her and she turns away to start grazing

Link stifles a chuckle and looks away

Ike covers his face to keep his smile from being visible, " good job. now to get those samples."

Soren walks past ike, nodding, "well duh! The more time you two spend talking the less time we have for collecting samples."

Link grins and looks at ike

Ike waits until Soren is past them before winking at Link, " aye aye sir, just tell us what to do and we're your humble helpers."

Soren scoffs, "oh don't have that tone with me. The sooner we collect samples the sooner we can get back to the castle."

Link takes ike's hand, writing on it. Not because he couldn't talk but because it was a silent way to communicate, is he always like this?

Ike nods, the corners of his eyes crinkling as he grins in amusement. " alright Soren, well you're the expert here, tell us what all you want us to get."

Soren nods and grabs his notebook and pencil, "soil around the perimeter along with anything growing near it. that includes the grass but i'll also be happy with some flowers if there are any."

link goes over and hums, "There are a ton of flowers as usual, along with some horse whistles."

Soren pauses briefly before looking at link, "What?"

Link looks over at Soren, "The horse whistles."

Soren blinks briefly before shaking his head, "most of your plant life seemed plausible. horse.....whistlers was not one of them."

Ike shrugs, " so the whole plant or just like a leaf or two? and do we want soil samples from multiple points or just one spot? and maybe some of the rocks or things in the spring might be a good idea."
