Renshajoh tips his head down so he can hear the other better, " ...alright. im going to try and pull it off okay Torque? then you'll be satisfied." he grips the edges of it with his claws and slowly starts to pull, gradually increasing the amount of strength he's using, " it's not coming off, it doesn;t seem to be just decorative."

Orion closes his eyes tightly and winces a bit when its pulled, holding on to rens clawed hand to keep himself steady. It hurt a lot. Burned if anything. The gem throbbed and fluttered in renshajoh's hand as it echoes the same rhythm as orions heartbeat.

Torque huffs, "well... fine. For now anyway... i'll tell my men to make sure not to bother him then. He seems to delicate to stick up for himself."

Renshajoh stops pulling, letting go of the odd gem and looking at his hand. It had almost...pulsed. he looks at the captain, " i'll be keeping an eye on him. no sense leaving a rabbit to the wolves... anyway he's just a kid, somebody has to keep him out of trouble." He sighs, " lets go, i've still got a few hours before my shift."

Torque nods, "as long as work still gets done i don't care. "

Orion instinctively brings his hands up to his chest and follows closely behind Ren

Renshajoh nods and heads back to his room, typing in the keycode before going in, " well that was fun. at least that should satisfy him though. so, it does glow then?"

Orion nervously looks around before slipping into the room and looking at ren, "yes...but if master even found out that anyone other than him knew there would be severe consequences, and not just towards me. No one is supposed to know."

The lizard nods, " i won't tell anyone. your secret is safe with me." he sighs and lays on the bed, " you know, if you were free you wouldn't have to worry about punishments."

Orion huffs, "yes but again, i have free food, water, clothes, lodging, and guards. And nice stuff. If i were master's property then i would need to figure out how to get that stuff myself. Im safe with Master."

Renshajoh snorts, " what happens if your master dies? eventually he will, he's far older than you. then you're stuck with nobody to take care of you, and likely many who'd try to kill or enslave you again. no resources and likely unable to learn new skills."

Orion flinches and looks down, "i... am unsure... he mentioned once that he entertained the idea of giving me to one of his kids as a gift...i will probably still appear young by then as well considering my appearance hasnt altered since a decade ago..." orion sounds a bit heartbroken at that but he shrugs, "but... master said he had only entertained the idea...so... things could still change..."

Renshajoh curls his lip, " giving you to another like a trinket...ugh. i pity you all the more if your lifespan is long..."

Orion looks down and huffs, "i... i am sworn to my master so i will do as he orders..." he sits down on the ground and brings his knees up to his chest

Renshajoh sighs, " one ought not to be bound to a word sworn in desperation as a child, for the rest of their life. it's cruel."

Orion curls up a bit tighter, "i have no one else even if i wanted to leave. Which i dont! He treats me kindly and makes me feel special!"

the lizard hisses, " treating you like an object is kindly? punishments are kindly? of course you don;t have anyone else, he never let you get close to anyone so you'd always be alone, with him as your only lifeline. you have a chance to change that now. i'll be here, for the time being anyway."
