takana shrugs and follows close to arakan, "honestly we should grow our own food. i didnt see anything in the books that said you guys couldnt so even if you buy sub par produce you can take the seeds, use the rest of the food for compost and start up a cheap garden to save a little bit of money."

Arakan sighs, " the problem is space. im not sure if you noticed, but there aren't exactly any fields around here. most available space goes towards homes or shops. it's not like we can just expand our district as our population grows."

[MissyLooni]

takana hums softly, "are there any apartments with a flat enough roof top and are also stable to hold maybe a small garden on top? if its just empty concrete up there we could put it to use."

[Namari]

Arakan blinks, " hm, perhaps. i will look into it. are you volunteering to show us how to do that?"

[MissyLooni]

takana shakes his head, "i have never done it but isabella is an exceptional gardener and she can tell me how. she has a whole room dedicated to her paintings and plants as well as her garden in their back yard."

[Namari]

" well i suppose that is another reason to hope her visit goes smoothly. if she enjoys herself, we may be able to convince her to be here more often." He walks into one of the larger shops, " what would you like to get?"

takana hums softly, "im not quite sure what all i want. I know we need some more eggs and coffee but i tend to browse and see what sparks my interest."

[Namari]

Arakan nods, " browse away." he looks around the shop, trailing after Takana.

Takana hums as he browses, picking out a few items that he is interested in

Arakan picks up and sniffs some questionable looking fruit, " hm, these don't look half bad. not totally rotten yet anyway."

[MissyLooni]

takana looks at it and hums softly, "Its already releasing a lot of natural sugar in that state so id have to use it pretty fast. right now what comes to mind is cooking it and making a puree that i could drizzle on top of desserts or pancakes, french toast, waffles, ect."

Arakan shrugs, " i might just get a couple for those kids, they like sweets, they'll probably enjoy this. not often you get fruit still decent." he carefully grabs a few and grabs a basket for himself, trying to not bruise them more than they already are.

Takana blinks, looking a little crestfallen as he remembers the family before looking away, "thats... awfully sweet of you."

[Namari]

Arakan glances back at him, " well i can't do as much for them as i'd like, but i try and visit every few days at least. make sure they're still doing alright. they've settled in well with the other broken families, tends to be men that take the hit, they let pride get in the way. So at least the widows know what everyone is going through and help watch the kids so everyone can have a break now and then. works out pretty well, for something born out of tragedy. I can only help people if they let me, and pride is one of the few things we have left, so it's difficult to ask for help. plus sometimes there's malfunctions that simply get missed. It's shit, but that's how it is."
