Topic: To Cross That Line (Namari x Missylooni)

[Namari]

Izanagi tilts his head, looking at Nikiri, " oh right, you get to go to the human district because you can speak so many languages. so their government does that on purpose?"

[MissyLooni]

Nikiri snorts, "Of course. If you ever get the displeasure of walking through the human district for more than 5 minutes you will see large billboards and signs depicting happy little demons with whatever new collar is out along with some weird cheerful slogan that makes it seem like we are content with whats going on. We can go over there if its for work, with restrictions of course, but they absolutely forbid the human public to step on to our side. Even if they were to be fully protected. I'm sure they dont want their people to know what is going on here."

He crosses his arms and sighs, "At least I hope anyway. I may be giving humans too much credit thanks to a few, rare, nice humans I have encountered as a child but I would like to think that they all arent terrible. They just dont know. After all, its those who are victorious that get to write the history books."

[Namari]

Izanagi looks down, " i did go a few times, but i always kept my eyes to the ground. people were mean... i don;t want to go back there." he blinks, " if humans aren;t allowed here then why did they let Takana come?"

[MissyLooni]

Takana glances at Izanagi and sighs, "I use to be in a relationship with one of the guards. and yeah. he called me a fucking idiot."

The room begins to fill with a delicious, meaty smell as Takana keeps cooking.

Nikiri hums, "How scandalous. He must have really disliked you to essentially let you get killed."

Takana's ears twitch back, huffing in annoyance, "I wouldnt say that. He tried his best to convince me not to. But he couldnt take me in either. That would be weird..... for his wife."

[Namari]

Izanagi perks up, " oooooo scandalous. so it's almost unheard of for humans to get in here, unless they're coming for inspection day." he involuntarily winces. " and the collar fitters, they have to work here on the border. can;t trust us to make sure our collars are secured and can;t come off on our own after all."

[MissyLooni]

Takana blinks, looking at izanagi, frowning, "...inspection day? What the fuck is that?"

[Namari]

Izanagi blinks and looks at Takana, " ...well the next one should be coming up next week i think, you'll see then... it's when the humans come to inspect our collars to ensure they're all functional."

[MissyLooni]

Takana's eyebrows furrow and his ears move back, "why would they need an inspection to do that? Are they worried you wont buy new ones if the current ones stop working? Why arent they making the collars free? That would be the best way to ensure everyone is keeping theirs functioning."

Nikiri listened to takana's questions closely. He was glad at least that despite how annoying it might feel for a human to be asking constant questions like this, the boy was at least putting the humans into fault and not so much the demons themselves.

[Namari]

Izanagi's eyes widen, " wow, he really doesn't know then?" he looks at Nikiri, kind of amazed that anyone could be oblivious to what was happening to them. " they... they check to make sure everyone has working collars. if any aren't working, the punishment is.... severe. they don't care how we keep them functional, just that we do."

[MissyLooni]

Takana's ears perk and his eyes widen, "punishment?! For their shitty collars?!"

Nikiri chuckles, although its dry and full of hate, "yeah. Punishment. Sure we'll go with that word."

[Namari]

Izanagi nods slowly, " yeah... it's... scary..." he seems to shrink in on himself, not even wanting to think about it.

[MissyLooni]

takana frowns, feeling a weird pit in his chest grow as he sees izanagi act in such a way that he was not used to. Whatever happens during this inspection seems to be incredibly serious. His hand instinctively touches his collar and his ears droop before he turns and goes back to the food, staying quiet

Izanagi tries to snap himself out of it, " so um, wanna watch a movie? i got this tv, it's got a weird line across the middle but otherwise it works great, and the player is fine too. nobody really keeps only vcr tapes anymore so i get them for a steal."

[MissyLooni]

Nikiri hums softly and shakes his head, "sorry love. I need to head home now before my other sister's get worried. I'll see you tomorrow at the cafe though~" he heads for the door and blows izanagi a kiss before leaving.

Takana glances at the door and frowns before looking at izanagi, "just a few more minutes on food,  then we can eat while we watch a movie if you want? "

Izanagi waves as Nikiri leaves and pouts when he's gone. He glances at Takana, " if you want to. i was more hoping to get into his pants at some point to take my mind off things but obviously that's not happening." he sighs softly.
