Topic: To Cross That Line (Namari x Missylooni)

After a few hours of silence nikiri finally gets a text from helios.
He reads it briefly, since it isn't a report, and blinks, frowning and sitting up from his previous slouched position.
He hesitantly sends korri a text, 'finally heard back from helios. He didnt send a report but said if we want to know the findings to meet with him. And he specifically said not to bring takana.

Korri hears her phone and puts the jar of herbs away that she was checking, frowning at the text. "i almost wish that man was in my district so i could see about making him less cryptic. very well, do you have time for us to go get this done?"

[MissyLooni]

Nikiri sighs, the sooner we get this over with the better. he gets up and heads to the the man hole cover and waits for korri

Korri shifts and flies over, alighting gracefully next to Nikiri and looking at him pointedly as she waits for him to open it for her.

[MissyLooni]

There is no need to wait as nikiri opens the sewer as soon as he sees her, "ladies first. Especially since I'm going to have to close this lid once we're  in."

[Namari]

She hops down in and flies ahead, remembering the path and not wanting to slow down and risk stalling and landing in the muck.

Nikiri follows after, wasting no time getting to the clean lab, knocking on the door.

Helios opens it and almost looks like he regrets opening the door, "ah. You guys came right away. Great..." He opens the door all the way so they may come in

she smoothes her feathers before shifting back, " well what did you expect being so cryptic?"

[MissyLooni]

Helios sighs, "sorry I just- it is a lot to explain over text and there's no real way to... send a report on this. And takana seems to be the type to make a big deal out of things that.... might... deserve to be a big deal... maybe. Either way, I can't handle someone like him getting all upset about things that can't be changed."

[Namari]

Korri sighs softly, " very well then, lets hear what the news is." she walks in and takes a seat,

helios paces a little, muttering to himself briefly before running his hand through his hair and taking a deep breath, "Takana is absolutely a changeling. whether he's 1/2, full, a quarter, doesnt matter. he is absolutely a changeling. i didnt necessarily keep track of the dna of the ears because i had no reason to so when I saw Takana's dna match with his previous ears i figured his dna change to match the ears however I was wrong. I took a snip of dna from his new ears before i gave them to him last time and now after taking more samples of dna today I made the discovery that his body changed the dna of the ears to match."

Nikiri blinks and frowns, ".....um...how?"

"weeeellllll......" he presses his index fingers together and casual looks away, looking like a child who is trying to come up with a reason to not get in trouble by their parents

Korri hisses softly, " a changeling? that's trouble. all the more reason to make him realize he's a bad match for my son." she looks over at Helios and her eyes narrow as she stands, " what. did. you. do."

[MissyLooni]

Helios flinches and takes a step back,  "hey hey hey I'm not doing anything anything illegal here. No one cared about changelings during the war when they rather hid then fight and our kind didn't exactly try to keep them safe from humans since we figured humans killing changelings was a win win for us so... I thought no one cared if I collected the dead bodies and... preserved them and... use their cells to make... the ears. "

Nikiri's eyes widen,  "you- the ears are just changeling parts?!"

"Stem cells really. Stem cells are very active and easy to manipulate so... i discovered that takana being a changeling caused the ears to actually change their DNA structure to fit takana's and influence the demon part of him to be not dormant. Thus the tail. He even said he liked the tail so subconsciously his changeling side is changing his body based on not only his environment but what he feels is 'correct'."

"You're.... putting dead changeling parts.... on people... well at least I can see why you wouldn't want him to be here to hear that... " Nikiri looks honestly disturbed

Korri rubs her temples and sighs, " if you were under my jurisdiction... im not even sure what i'd do. in the meantime, perhaps truely fake ears, not ones made from changeling cells, would be a good idea to help reduce the chance of this continuing to happen."

[MissyLooni]

Helios sighs, "it's not like they were alive! And no one cared about them when they were being killed by humans, hell I know there is a few demons out there that would proudly confess to leaving a family or two of changelings to fend for themselves during the war."

Nikiri shudders, "look, I don't like changelings as much as the next demon but the fact that there is one out there means there could be more, are we not forgetting that? You remember what we were told as kids? Where there's a changeling there's a skin walker. And where there's a skin walker there's bound to be...a.... you know...."

Helios blinks, "a wendigo?"

Nikiri freezes and turns pale, "DONT SAY ITS NAME! What the hell is wrong with you?!"

Helios sighs, "look I get deer folk and deer related folk have an exceptional fear and hatred for the wen- ugh that type of shape shifter but with how evil they apparently are and how much destruction they are rumored to cause I highly doubt there are any left alive. If there was one alive then we would have seen or heard something, especially from your family since you guys are the only ones that can roam to other districts freely."
