Takana's ears move back when he hears arakan and frowns, "is it... so bad? To not want to be who I am?"

Nikiri hums softly, "well you are a changeling technically. You could potentially make your own ears over time."

Takana looks at nikiri, "what? I can?"

Nikiri shrugs, "maybe."

Toujou looks at korri, "th-the last I wass nn-near d-demons wasth p-pre war."

Isabelle blinks, "was there districts before the war? "

Arakan sighs, " well I'd like you to be happy as you, and not wish to be someone else just to fit in." He places a gentle kiss onto Takanas forehead.

Korri frowns, " not districts exactly, no. Instead I suppose I would have called them clans, or tribes? The ranking system was the same, but spread out more. A top ranking family would oversee a large territory, and withing that territory it was further split into sections. So within that territory, it would be split into say, 4-6 B ranked territories that each contained a few C rank territories. And in the C ranked territories there were households and all communities of e ranks that were organized by the d ranks, typically. So the top ranked Demons focused on the entire territory and making sure no rogue demons came and caused trouble, and made sure none of the demons below them abused their power. And if there were issues among the sections, there was a higher ranked demon who could mediate and settle trouble. It worked rather well. If the top demon was corrupt there were enough of the next rank down to take them out or drive them off if need be."

Touhou nods to korri, "Yeah l-lllike that."

Isabelle blinks and nods, "interesting."

Takana blushes and sighs, "but...even though I am part human I'm also part changeling apparently so I'd like to keep the ears. Especially if I can go back to work. I don't want to weird out my coworkers by suddenly not having ears..."

Arakan nods, " well for now, we can. Let's focus on getting your hearing back first. We'll think about the rest later. And we do have to decide if you wanted to move back into the district right away or lay low for a bit."

Takana nods, "I do want to live here. As much as I get annoyed at him, I do miss izanagi."

[Namari]

Arakan nods, " well, I see no reason why not then. I believe everything you left here is still there. I'm sure Izanagi will be happy to have you back."

Takana smiles in relief, "I'm glad... thank you."

Nikiri hums softly, "well that at least takes care of you. What about your brother? Surely he isn't going to stay in your home with your father."

Takana's ears flatten, "i... don't know. The districts are already cramped so I don't want to bring yori in."

Isabelle frowns, "Yeah, and square footage isn't something that can be fixed by throwing money at it. I suppose for now he can stay at the home makoto and I reside in. It's not nearly as far as the vineyard but it's certainly not walking distance."

[Namari]

Arakan sighs, " being that he's not human, and considering your father, he would be safest here. cramped or not. but that's a choice you guys need to make."

[MissyLooni]

Takana frowns, "he was still a little jumpy around demons since he really believed what Kahana told him. Not sure how he would react now but I do worry."

Nikiri snorts, "somehow I think he'd be a bit more respectful than you were when you first arrived."

Takana hisses at nikiri, "I'm an emotional dick! Leave me alone!"

Nikiri chuckles softly, "my point exactly." He blinks before looking at arakan, "damn if you did end up killing takana on that first day when he pissed you off that would have been terrible. His father would have definitely waged war."

Isabelle frowns, "takana you're terrible."

Arakan shakes his head, " i would find it difficult to believe he could behave worse than you did. and yes, that would have been bad. though perhaps he would have shown his true colors then we could have dealt with him then."

Takana grumbles softly.

Isabelle hums softly, "there are a couple of condemned houses across the street from the gates that no one has even thought about fixing up because... well it's close to the demon district. It's value is incredibly low as well for the same reason. Maybe I buy it and fix it up and yori stays there? That way he's right across the street to the entrance but he isn't taking up more space?"

[Namari]

Arakan sighs, " i suppose. though if his father comes to get him i can't help him, no matter how close it is, because i can't leave. so that's a risk you take. unless he's in the district, i can't do jack shit to help him should things go south."

[MissyLooni]

Isabelle nods, "Yes I fully understand. I figured if he was across the street then he could at least run and pass through the gate but to be fair, it would be a few months before the home would even be ready so those few months he'd have to live in the district anyway while we waited"

Arakan nods, " assuming the guards let him in, but that's a risk you guys have to decide if you want to take. it's not my choice. i'd offer to help fix the place up but... well, not only do we not have the skills, but we can't leave so that's going to be your deal. speaking of deals, hows the paperwork coming?"

Isabelle nods and opens her bag, pulling out the paperwork, "it's done. I spent the better part of yesterday getting it done."

Takana blinks when the conversation shifts, "paperwork? For what?"
