To Cross That Line (Namari x Missylooni)
« on: August 05, 2020, 01:45:17 am »
The fall of a war ended with Humans wining and Demons deciding living was better than fighting to the death.
For years there has been a sort of stagnant atmosphere that encompasses the planet. Humans call it peace, while Demons call it agitation.
There are several sections on the planet, with districts that are heavily armed to keep the Demons inside unless they had reasons for going to and from the different worlds. Their reasons? Work. A meager wage but something is better than nothing when you live in the slums.
Shiba Corp. is the top contributor to the safety of humans, leading the world in the creation of the "Good boy Collars". Special collars for every demon to keep them in line and always identifiable thanks to the technological advances of Corrin Kuroshiba. The CEO of Shiba Corp.

~~~~~
Takana finished packing his measly 3 boxes and 1 backpack, bags under his eyes from the sheer lack of sleep thanks to the stress he was under.
He had to open his big dumb fucking mouth. Pissed off his step mother and have her cut everything that he needed. She owned the apartment so she told him he had the end of the week to get out. It was furnished before he moved in years ago so none of it was his to take. She cut off his college fund while he was in the middle of his 6 year degree. She cut him off from the family bank account and took him off the phone plan.
He had saved up a bit of his own money in a separate account however he should have taken more money just in case.... He looked at his new phone, a burner phone, and noted the time. The only affordable apartments he could find that weren't absolute garbage were in the demon district. He wasnt sure if he was allowed there but....he had seen a demon at work here before and for the most part they looked human so if he just.... didnt mention it would anyone really asked?
He was desperate at this point and since he couldnt get a hold of either of his brothers, or his dad, the fear of living on the streets loomed over his shoulder to the point that he'll do just about anything. It was worth a shot anyway...
After burning another paycheck on some toys and absolutely adorable outfits, Izanagi was... well broke was an understatement. If he didn't get his rent in on time this month the landlord was so kicking him out. Regardless he pulled some extra shifts at his work and put an ad up to rent out the second room in his apartment. well, room was kind of generous, the place was tiny after all. Regardless somebody had to be in as rough of shape as he was, and even if it meant rooming with an E class demon surely somebody was desperate enough, right?! Thank the gods someone called on it, Izanagi didn't even meet the guy, he just said yes please move in, as long as he had his half of the rent up front. Hopefully this guy wouldn;t be too much of an ass, though Izanagi supposed he could always offer a few bjs if he happened to be a particularly bad demon until he could kick the guy back out again. Regardless, he was scrambling to move his shit from the other room and fit it into his own when he hears the buzzer, running over and pushing the button to unlock the main door, " It's unlocked! number 327!" shit he still had a mess. He quickly gathers a bunch of his frilly dresses that were his work uniforms as he hears the door open, " sorry sorry! i pulled a double last night and maybe kind of fell asleep instead of cleaning so it's kind of a mess!" he hurries by the other, dropping some lacy undergarments on the floor as he goes.
Takana had crossed the patrol officers easily since they didnt seem to care if a human decided to get themselves killed in the demon district. Just a simple warning to watch himself was thrown his way before he laughed it off and headed for the address.
He was careful though. Making sure to keep his jacket fully zipped up to his chin and not to bring his identification card. He did bring his student ID but that was only because college had forms you manually filled out and it wasnt government issued so a little fibbing could be done. and by fibbing he meant by removing the shiba part of his last name. Just so his fellow teachers and classmates didnt treat him differently. He wanted to earn his grades because he studied hard, not because they were intimidated by him.
The student ID wasnt anything special either. Just said Takana Kuro next to his picture, his age, and a barcode that was used to get into certain parts of his college.
He stopped at the set of apartments and goes to the main entrance, pressing the buzzer. He could hear the person on the other end let him know what apartment number to go to and shrugs before stepping inside and heading that way.
He gives a courtesy knock before opening the door, "Hello-" he stops abruptly when he sees Izanagi, or at least his blur, run past him and he blinks, "ah- That's alright. I-" he glances down and blushes when he sees the clothing on the floor.
Izanagi dumps the clothes on his bed and goes back out to Tanaka, spotting the panties on the floor, " whoops~! those are mine." he gruins and grabs them, stuffing them into a pocket before looking Tanaka over, " ...you can let your ears or horns out, it's not like we're around any humans. E rank im betting from the looks of you right? You have the rent? i really cannot afford to be late this month or im so boned. and not in the fun way. Oh right, your room is right here." he goes over to one of the doors, opening it to show what must have been a minuscule office with a couch being the only furniture left after Izanagi cleaned it out. " it's not much, but i moved the couch from the livingroom in here since you said you don't have a bed yeah?"
Takana rubs the back of his head and holds out a wad of cash, "The room is just fine. its better than the streets for now. And I have the money for the month. Although I'm also looking for a job so dont expect me around much. Just a place to sleep and then i'll be out to get a job." Skirt around the whole demon thing if he can. Maybe with any luck he can just never be found out. Or at least stick around until he can get a hold of his dad. Dad would never let his own kid live on the streets.
Izanagi freezes and looks back at him, " wait, you don;t have a job? shit come on..." he shakes his head and then looks more closely at Tanaka, " where's your collar? you won;t be able to get a job without it, not to mention you'll get in a shit ton of trouble if any of the guards catch you without it."
Takana flinches and moves back a bit, "There's no need to worry about me, okay? You needed to rent the room for the month, here is the money for the month. I'll get something figured out man."
Izanagi frowns, " if we're going to live together i think it's fair that i know in advance what kind of trouble you're bringing here, i may be desperate but i can still send you packing."
Takana pales and panics a bit, "Look, im desperate here too... I promise that im not that much trouble. I just-" he's making this sound so much worse....
"I- I'm human, okay?" he sighs and pockets his money, "im in a tight spot thanks to my step mom being a homophobe and gave me the end of the week to get my stuff and get out and..." he shakes his head, "forget it..."
Izanagi blinks, then lifts a hand to his mouth, " shit are you serious? what the hell are you thinking? you could die here, like, literally die. I mean i can;t do much, but there's a lot of demons who don't like humans. there's no way you can live here as a human." he frowns, he really did need the money... he could only pull so many doubles and rent was almost due, " shit. um... crap. hold on. we might be able to make this work... but you can;t go around telling people you're human, a dead room-mate is useless to me." he goes into his room and rummages around until he finds a set of clip on cat ears, and manages to dig up an ancient collar of his. they were the really old first standard issue ones. clunky as hell and not in the slightest bit comfortable, but it'd work. He comes back out and holds them out, " here, this will hopefully keep anyone from taking a second look." he sighs, might as well go big huh? " ...where i work miiiiight be slightly understaffed. you're cute enough that they'll probably hire you. but if you get me into trouble i swear i'll... well, i can;t really do much but i'll be mad okay? I've got a shift coming up anyway so we'll just go a bit early." he grabs a bag with his outfit for the day, " well?"
That... was a lot to process just now. "Wait... even knowing im a human you'll still let me live here?" He gives a sigh of relief,  "i only have to wear those when i'm outside right? No offense but that collar looks terrible. Is... is that what the Good Boy Collars look like?"
Izanagi nods, " yeah... rents due in a few days and i can;t make the rest of it myself in that time so... yeah. This was the first model of it, they sucked. some demons still have scars on their neck from how they chafed. but i can;t afford to get new ones very often so this is the only one i upgraded from before it totally broke. also, don;t call it that please." he wrinkles his nose, " it's bad enough we have to wear them, if you call it that everyone will definitely know you're human. it's seriously demeaning. but anyway i have a better one that fits right." he touches the silver band on his neck, " you get used to it. also, once it clips on you need a special device to get it back off, so regretfully you're gonna have to wear it all the time. keeps us from just taking them off willy nilly."
Takana winces a bit,  "right.... well.... i guess that will make getting a job in my area impossible then... um right.  Well uh.  What is your job then? What do.... what jobs do demons have?" There was no way of getting back home for now. His step mom will probably just toss his stuff once she checks the apartment. There wasnt anything good in there anyway. His textbooks,  expensive but useless now,  and all of his notebooks that had his ideas on it. Although he could easily right them down again,  just the ones that hadnt failed him yet. Ugh all those pieces of paper gone to waste instead of being properly stored or recycled. Hell just his chip idea took up an entire notebook until he realized that it could easily be corrupted and  damaged.
Izanagi sighs, " well you can get a job out of the demon district, but it's not always easy to get back and forth. usually it's stuff like house cleaning, trash and recycling pick up, mail delivery sometimes, you know, all the boring, hard work or gross jobs humans don;t like." he shrugs, " my job is being a waiter at a cafe, and like i said, we're short staffed so i think you'll get hired. it's honestly one of the safer jobs out there that pays decently. there's other ways to earn good money but... well anything that keeps lower rank demons in a indoor more controlled environment is always ideal. not all high rank demons are nice, though the leaders of this district keep things under control decently, better than my last district."
Takana sighs and puts his hand on his hip, "well.... a waiter isnt too bad.... is it like, a restaurant or a cafe or?"
