Arakan nods, " yes, however there are ways we can help with that. i'll see about asking my mother for a tea blend to help you sleep."

takana blinks, thinking back to the woman, "ah you dont have to do that. i wouldnt want her to be bothered with something so trivial."

Arakan snorts, " she would want to know. besides, you are hardly the only person she makes such things for, it simply means her giving me the right one for you."

Takana sighs, "Well.... if she doesnt mind... I just dont want to cause any more problems then i already have by existing."

Arakan looks back at his phone, " it will get less that way as you settle into life here. She is a healer, she would be upset if someone was having trouble and did not seek assistance. she is a formidable woman in her own right even if she is not as physically powerful as my father and i, it's not wise to upset her." he chuckles, " believe me, she taught me that one as a child very swiftly."

Takana glances at arakan, "Trust me, upsetting your mother is the last thing i want to do."

Arakan laughs, " you did talk to her for a bit there, she's intimidating isn't she? try being the child explaining to her exactly why you thought it was a good idea to freeze the kitchen floor. she's very caring through, and takes her role as one of the heads of medical very seriously."

Takana shrugs, "You're absolutely right about that. Its something i could sense almost immediately. Just the way she carries herself makes it obvious that she can either be your best ally or the reason why you're six feet under."

Arakan chuckles softly, " that's my mother alright. sweet and caring and absolutely terrifying. if i find a mate half as good as her i'll consider myself lucky."

Takana nods, "I hope you do find someone like that. Everyone deserves a significant other who is kind and caring."

Arakan nods, " not to mention the chances of my parents having another child are low, how different they are makes it more complicated, so it's becoming more important for me to find a mate so we can secure our bloodline. it's not easy though." he sighs softly.

takana glances at arakan, "I bet. I dont really see you as the type to hang around a girl."

He runs a hand through his hair, " not for their lack of trying i assure you. getting in the good graces of the one that is likely the next leader is high on many's priority list. but that just makes it harder, do they actually like me or simply see me as an opportunity? And is this their true self, or just a part they're playing to get what they want. a female is more ideal, fewer hurdles to deal with in getting an heir, though not a requirement. and i can;t simply pick someone i like either, i need to keep what's best for the district in mind as well..." he sighs and blinks, " ah.... apologies, i shouldn't be unloading all this on you. seems to happen more often, my saying more than i mean to around you." he gives a bitter smile.

Takana listens to arakan talk, semi venting from what he can tell, shrugging slightly, "no need to say sorry. It gives me a chance to get to know you better. I wouldn't be surprised if you subconsciously feel like you can open up to me more since I am new here. I had no idea who you were when I first came nor does your title really affect me in any way since I have to eventually leave."
Takana blinks as his mind clicks to a different thought, "wait, what do you mean that a girl isn't a requirement for an heir?"

Arakan sheepishly nods, " yeah, i guess so- oh." he looks at Takana, " im surprised you don't know, that's one of the few things humans actually want from us, things they can exploit. There are some demons who are able to take essence from two people, regardless of gender, and mix them to make offspring. They dislike doing it often, so usually only demons with a lot of pull or humans willing to pay out the nose get it. same with things like phoenix tears, and other things from us that have... well i guess you humans would say magical properties."
