Topic: To Cross That Line (Namari x Missylooni)

[Namari]

Arakan snorts, " that's an understatement. there was a lot that needed to be done. i'll probably need to bail tomorrow as well, just to get caught back up..." he sits on the couch, sighing softly. " it doesn't help that relationships between the district and the humans have been getting worse. more and more the lower class demons who seek work outside of the district report poor treatment, and there's nothing i can do about it. we need that income into the district, there's little we have that we can get the humans to purchase from us, and yet there are so many things that need to be imported into the district. there's only so many phoenix feathers, Caladrius tears, and so on we can ask people to give to be sold." he rubs his temples, " things can;t continue this way... but i don't know how to fix it."

[MissyLooni]

Takana's ears go back and he sighs, "I wish I could help you in that regard,  truly. "

[Namari]

Arakan sighs, " unless you can make the humans stop treating us like we're one step above rabid dogs, i doubt it'll happen. i'll... just have to look for more things we can make or produce that humans might want. maybe i can work on trying to make my cold last longer, then i can sell things with that? i don't know..."

[MissyLooni]

Takana rubs his arm, "i... if we need money, and the humans have money, then... couldn't they come here and personally buy our goods? If we made sure they felt safe enough to come in,  shop, give us money, then maybe it'll help them see that we're not animals? I know I'm personally working on making the cafe more successful, and humans love food. That could be a potential start. Completely up to you though. "

[Namari]

Arakan nods, " yes... except that there are many demons who are angry with our treatment, and would be aggressive. not to mention the guards don;t exactly just allow anyone through. i've only ever seen humans come through with an armed guard." he sighs.

[MissyLooni]

Takana nods,  "yes I am aware about that but something has to give and we can agree that we both would rather have it give in a good way. I also know a few humans that might agree to pass the gate just to see me but that's if it needs be. It's there any way to have like,  a big meeting with everyone and explain the situation to them? We need the economy. "

[Namari]

Arakan sighs, " i mean, i can try and order people to not mess with the humans, but if those jackasses at the gates keep instigating things it's only a matter of time before someone takes it out on the humans that are easier to get to. i can;t ask my people to overlook that we're being cowed and sometimes killed, for little reason. not without breaking everyone down so far that we'd hardly be people anymore. i can;t do that to my people."

[MissyLooni]

Takana nods, "absolutely. Maybe we can work on getting the cafe and a couple of other places to a high enough standard that they will catch the humans attention regardless. They'll want to come in,  and we can let them IF they follow our rules about it,  and that goes for the guards as well. That includes not messing with us, and in turn we don't mess with them? "

[Namari]

Arakan runs a hand through his hair, " ...perhaps." he looks over at Takana and studies him for a few long moments, " ...you seem to have a decent relationship with some of the guards, or at least they seem less aggressive towards you. i hate to even ask it... but do you think you can convince their captain to speak with me?"

[MissyLooni]

Takana blinks,  "curtis? Yeah of course."

[Namari]

Arakan nods slowly, " then we will try and get that going. sooner is better. i believe he will be there tomorrow, i can get you off work for this. this is a little more important no offense."

[MissyLooni]

Takana nods, "that's fine, I'm sure the manager will understand. "

[Namari]

Arakan nods, " indeed, she knows i would not pull you from work without a good reason. i will text her tonight." he sighs, " well, i suppose i probably ought to get some sleep if im going to keep my temper in check with that arrogant fool. you should get some rest as well."

[MissyLooni]

Takana nods,  "I'll get some rest as well, is there anything I can get for you? "

[Namari]

He shakes his head, " nothing you can do, thank you though. if we don;t start a war i'll consider tomorrow wildly successful... goodnight." he grabs the bedding he'd folded up and set aside and starts getting the couch ready.
