Isabelle blinks, "Um no most humans have depression or anxiety. or some other form of mental illness. And from what humans are told in schools, demons dont... have the capacity to have mental health issues, however being here now and hearing things from takana its clear to me that the schools are lacking in information."

[Namari]

Arakan snorts, " of course they would say so. Though frankly before the war suicide among demons was nearly unheard of. Very uncommon. It's mainly the environment here that causes it I presume. Humiliation, feeling trapped, hopelessness, knowing your life is so worthless one small mistake can have it ended, and even those sworn to protect them cannot do a damned thing about it." He grits his teeth, eyes going cold.

Isabelle pales as she watches arakan speak, suddenly feeling incredibly uncomfortable, "my.... apologies..." 
She didn't know what to say in all honesty. What even could she say?
"I didn't know...and there's so much I still don't know, however my ignorance was not malicious in any way. If it was I wouldn't be here, hoping to help where I am useful. I will always try to be useful." Her eyes are glued to her plate, her shoulders tense, almost as if she is bracing for something, waiting.

Arakan's eyes soften, seeing her again instead of letting his rage take control, " you did nothing. i lost my temper, and it was not directed towards you. the feeling of humiliation and being helpless as i watch those im supposed to protect suffer... it does not sit well with me. It's very much a sore spot, but you had no way of knowing that. apologies for my behavior." he sighs softly and lifts his drink to his lips.

isabelle relaxes only a little, "no need to apologize, i didn't have to say what i said so if anything it is a learning opportunity that i deserved."

[Namari]

" nonsense. you simply told me what propaganda the humans are told, which makes some things make sense. As i said, i lost my temper. Im not as...desensitized as our current leader is." he sighs softly.

[MissyLooni]

isabelle looks up at arakan and nervously sips her coffee, "um...yes. it is propaganda. and humans believe it because they havent been exposed to anything that would contradict that. perhaps that too will change after some time as humans spend time in this district to purchase goods."

[Namari]

Arakan nods, looking out the window, " we can hope. If humans are permitted in here. If this is the information they are being fed... i doubt those feeding them it will be pleased if their work begins to be reversed. I will need to think on this information and decide how best to prepare for potential retaliation."

[MissyLooni]

Isabelle nods, "those who can afford to spin the narrative to best tip the scales in their favor will do so without hesitation." She goes back to eating her curry

Arakan nods absently, finishing his curry and pulling his phone out to send this information to Nikiri.

Isabelle finishes her meal and clears her throat a little,  "now that we'll have some energy we can get started on the harder  item on our to do list. "

Arakan glances up, snapped out of his thoughts, " hm? oh, yes, of course. Indigo, let Takana know we're getting ready to move on."

Indigo nods and gets up, heading to the kitchen and poking his head in, " Takana? Arakan says we'll be moving onto our next task soon."

[MissyLooni]

Takana looks over and nods, "sounds good." he plates another order for izanagi to take to a customer before looking at the chef, "breaks over for ya since i gotta go." takana takes his apron off and exits the kitchen

Indigo waits for him and walks back to the table.

Arakan Finishes texting Nikiri to update him before putting his phone into his pocket and getting up, " alright, lets go."

Isabelle nods and gets up, smiling at Takana, "Thank you for cooking. I always love it when you make food."

Takana chuckles, "I miss you buying the ingredients so I can cook."

They both head out of the cafe

Hikari watches Isabelle leave, huffing softly, "good. im glad she finally left."
