Zelda shakes her head, "the bottles used and the corks have a special yet safe rice starch coating that not only keeps moisture out but is completely harmless to the potion itself. Heating it however would not change the compound. Its made to withstand excessive amounts of heat so it has a rather.... high boiling point. I'm not sure how high but i've witness the potions withstand volcanic environments without them boiling so... yeah."

Ike taps his chin thoughtfully, " doesn't have to boil to remove moisture from it. Soren, we'll need to look into how those bottles and corks are made, and the rice starch they use. if possible, i want a few of the potions, possibly some of the ones made from the leaves rather than the roots, to experiment on. i want all sort of thinning agents added to see if it does anything, being able to thin down that thicker type could be useful. i also want to know how small of a dose can be used, if supplies are low it may mean the difference between someone living to either get more or other medical aid and death. Can i count on you to take charge on this Soren?" he looks at his right hand man seriously, knowing he could trust him with this all important task.

Soren nods and looks at ike, "leave everything to me."

Zelda rubs the back of her head, "i'll let the girls know to make a few with the leaves for you guys to play with."

Links bangs are dry enough to brush any tangles out. He glances out of his window and sighs before checking all of the locks and his door before locking it as he heads out.

Lana dries her hair after taking a shower herself, humming softly as she threads her fingers through her hair.

Ike smiles, " I appreciate it. I know I ask a lot, and I'm being difficult, but these answers could mean the difference between life and death one day, so best to know for sure. " He claps Soren on the back before leaving, debating what to do next.

Zelda shakes her head, "thats completely fair. At one point we were struggling with our potions as well and it had caused a death on our end. Its one of the reasons why sophie has committed her life to the perfection of our potions."

Ike snorts, " perfection is when you have plenty of the stuff to waste. i want to see how far they can be stretched, if they can be revived after ruining them, and so on. after all, we don;t have a place they grow naturally, so we're stuck with whatever we can grow ourselves. possible ingredient variations or finding a way to try and thin out the thicker ones might be the only ways to keep up supplies. lets hope it doesn't get that dire, but i don't like leaving things to chance."

Zelda shrugs, "who knows, maybe you'll be around when sophie comes up with another way to consume them."

Link sits at the mess hall with his dinner, trying to eat in peace however with Iida talking to him that seems impossible

Ike nods, " possibly. i wonder if it's possible to dry it out, make it into a solid. that would make it far easier to transport and keep on hand on the field, though less easy to consume when in dire need. worth thinking about anyway. im going to get some dinner." he heads for the mess hall, filling his tray and scanning the room before he sees Link, heading over and sitting across from him, " hey, feeling better? you were awfully flushed when you left the baths." he takes a bite before noticing Iida there, " oh, hi."

Iida frowns at ike and scoots closer to Link, "he's fine. Thanks for asking. We were kinda in the middle of a conversation that you interrupted so if you could leave that'd be great."

Link flinches away from Iida and grabs his hand and begins furiously writing on it.

Iida gives a frustrated sigh before yanking his hand away from Link before he could finish. He looks at Ike and keeps his tone very annoyed, "I mean, I'm sorry. Please. Join us. "

Ike frowns, " hey, no need to be an ass. Also, seems kind of counter productive to pull your hand away seeing as that's how he talks to you." he shakes his head and slides his hand across the table to Link, " here, i can eat with one hand if you need to say anything." he takes another bite with his free hand.

Knowing that Iida cant read what Link writes on Ike's hand Link takes ike's hand eagerly, "Thank you for showing up. I just wanted to eat but Iida wont stop talking. He even started by talking about the weather. I'm going crazy and he doesn't seem to understand personal space."

Ike chuckles, " no problem, anytime." knowing the other man wouldn;t know what he was talking about. He looks at Iida, " so, i couldn;t help but notice your stance was a little weak. i could always give you a few pointers tomorrow before i spar with Link. Lord knows i won;t have the energy afterwards." he laughs softly.

Iida eyes Ike suspiciously, "You. Show me pointers?" Iida bites his cheek, thinking of how good it would feel to land a hit on Ike, "Yeah. Sure. Why not."

Link takes this brief moment of Iida not chatting his ear off to quickly scarfs some of his food

Ike smiles, " we'll turn you into a fighter yet. im not sure if you know this, but i lead an army at one point. not my cup of tea, but i've trained more than my fair share of soldiers. I'll admit, even though i definitely prefer the somewhat quieter life leading some mercenaries, i've missed the liveliness of leading on the warfront. things just got too quiet." he sighs, taking another bite of his food, mostly just looking to distract the other man so Link can get a chance to eat.

Link quickly finishes what little food he had and gets up. He walks over to the tray cart and puts his tray away before going back to the table, however instead of sitting in his original spot he goes across the table and sits next to ike.
