Caleb whips his head to look at ghirahim, his eyes wide, "wait... i-in the castle?! As in, not the lower mess hall or the showers, but the inner levels?"

Link shrugs and rubs the back of his neck, "i guess...." he didnt want to talk about being the hero...at all... he looked at ike and frowned slightly as he thought about what the older man and his boyfriend did at night

Ghirahim nods, " yeah, we can go out into the hall if you want to see?" he tilts his head.


Ike sighs, well he had tried anyway. he glances over and sees Link giving him an odd look, " what? do i have something on my face?"

Caleb's eyes light up and he nods happily,  "id like that!"

Link flinches and looks away,  "n- no! The sun gave your face a weird shadow is all."

Ghirahim nods and heads to his door, opening it for Caleb to head out.


Ike blinks, " ah alright." he sighs and leans back against the wall, closing his eyes, " so nice up here..."

Caleb steps out into the hall and he makes a soft gasp, "the stone bricks all have little designs on them! And there's carpeting!!" He looks up at the tall walls and shudders, "i... I'm actually in the inner castle.. oh my gosh!! So cool!"

Link looks down, "yeah..."  he sat in brief silence, only to become irritated by the feeling of something scratching inside his skull. He closed his eyes tightly before rubbing his face to try and distract himself. "So..." he opened his eyes and looked at ike, "you said while i was gone you drank. Does that actually do anything or do you just enjoying drinking gross things?"

Ghirahim chuckles, watching Caleb, " yes, yes you are. we can walk around if you want." he heads down the hall slowly, giving the other time to look at everything.


Ike winces, " ah, yeah. i mean, it's not really gross. i admit it can be an acquired taste, and there's a certain burn with it, but i enjoy it. plus it...well it makes not thinking about what troubles me easier. it's easy to just enjoy the moment and forget."

Caleb runs over the windows and gets on his tippy toes to look out the window, "the court yard! It looks beautiful from here!" He keeps walking down the halls, glancing back at ghirahim now and then to make sure they dont get separated

Link takes in what ike says and nods thoughtfully, "the forgetting part sounds appealing. Ah, but its still gross no matter how much of an acquired taste you claim it is."

Ghirahim laughs to himself as he watches the other darting around, staying within a few feet of him.


Ike frowns, " it's not a habit you ought to consider. where i grew up it was a normal thing, even kids were given a little wine or mead sometimes for special occasions, so you got a taste for it early. alcohol is pretty much always consumed for dinner, though the lighter variety of beer, ale, mead or wine. and bonding between soldiers or men in general is often at a bar. it's pretty normal to be stumbling home at night."

Link shrugs, "I'm sure you wont have to worry about that. I shouldnt be seen doing stuff like that anyway. Not good for the people morale and what not..."

Caleb goes over to the main doors that separate the hall from the stairs and he runs his hand down the intricate design carved into the wood, "it's... beautiful. So many hours probably went into making this door look amazing despite being made of just wood..."

Ike sighs, " you do have a point there. things aren;t like my home, drinking with the men builds bonds and moral. here... not so much. well, never said your little hero gig was all perks."

Ghirahim blinks, looking at the doorway, " i...never thought about it."

Caleb nods and looks at ghirahim, "yeah. I mean, im sure someone as powerful as ganon and yourself could just... get something or create something nice with a snap of your finger... but here there are certain people who have spent years to build up the skills needed to carve something so beautiful. Sure, they may not be physically strong or able to battle but... if it werent for them then this castle's bricks wouldn't be so perfectly square. These rugs wouldnt be such a bright, vivid purple IF they were even made to begin with... and someone would have had to have the knowledge to even know how to build in the first place! From the ground up! It may be thousands of years ago, but at one point this castle wasnt here. It was just dirt. It's so amazing!"
Caleb blinks and blushes, "sorry... i get... really caught up in silly stuff like that... i used to be able to see tiny details like this all the time but after my vision started getting worse i only really notice all those tiny details when i touch them."

Link shakes his head, "there's nothing good about being the hero..."

Ghirahim frowns, " yeah... either magic creates it or we just use people to make it. i guess that also wasn;t a good thing to do, just making people do that kind of thing or else they'd die." he blinks, " you can;t see it? isn;t there... i dunno, some way to make your vision better again?"


Ike huffs, " oh come on now, of course there is. but i can see why you feel that way. it's why i resigned being the commander back home after we won the war. it was a lot of pressure, and really i just prefer leading my small team of mercenaries and fighting alongside my friends, not leading armies. once we win this you'll be able to settle down, live a more simple life if you prefer."

Caleb hesitantly looks at ghirahim and gives an uncomfortable sigh, "...there is a type of eyewear called glasses that would allow me to see things that are close to me when i wear them. They are... crazy expensive though... aiden and i have been saving whatever money we have to one day get me a pair... he insists that i shouldnt have to save up. That he's going to take care of it since he's my brother... but it will be so much faster if we both save so I've been doing so without his knowledge. It'd be nice to see anything close up again, instead of having to back up a bit until nothing's blurry."

Link sighs and shakes his head, "It's not fun though. I wonder if the other heroes questioned themselves like i do... It's a tradition for the princess's that are born to be named Zelda... but Ganon only ever rears his head when a Link is born. ...makes me wonder if no one ever named a child Link again Hyrule would no longer have a hero.." link blushes and huffs, "sorry.... i dont mean to say weird stuff like that... I'm trying to fill the silence..."

Ghirahim blinks, then hesitates before grabbing the pouch of rupees, " is this enough?" he holds it out, all that he had left.

Ike sighs, " that sounds rough...and while i personally have no idea, i'd think each one questioned themselves, wondered if the goddesses made the right choice, so on and so forth. im sure there are other Links, i bet it's a popular name since it's the heros name. i know after i won the war, suddenly 'Ike' was the most popular name for newborn boys." he laughs softly.

Caleb pales and he brings his hands together, "i... i couldnt ask you to do that....I'd feel so bad and its your money..."

Link looks at ike and shrugs, "maybe... i havent met other links and the only time you hear that name is if it involves the hero..."
