Impa raises her hands, " i will note i made no jokes about your vehicle, but i will ask your cousins to leave it alone." she casts a meaningful glance at Zelda.

Zelda quickly looks away, shoving her mouth full with more food

Link huffs and keeps eating more food.

Impa chuckles softly, " well i tried anyway." she finishes off her portion, " i believe i heard the chef talking about whipping something quick up for a dessert since we're all eating together for once."

Link smiles and hums softly, swallowing his food, "i wonder what it could be~ his creme brulee his really good but so is his pecan pie~"

Zelda snorts, "those are easy to make though. I like it when he makes those little red velvet cupcakes with the sugar glass decorations and fruits~"

Link frowns, "yeah but its fall right now. the fruits wouldnt be in season or at least would be hard to get."

Zelda smiles and shakes her finger back and forth, "Yeah but we're rich link. we can get such things because we can just buy it."

link rolls his eyes, "But it would be easy to just make desserts with whats in season. Cheaper, and they would probably taste better anyway."

Zelda shrugs, "I dont really know why something being cheap or not is such a big deal to you. its fine. you have the money."

Impa chuckles softly, " im sorry Zelda but i doubt he's doing cake or the fancy decorations since it's a bit last minute. he takes a lot of time making those."

The chef soon comes out with little individual dishes of cannoli filling and cinnamon sugar chips to dip into them. He puts chips and filling in front of each person," my apologies it isn't more elegant, but seeing as burgers are finger food i thought this would be suitable enough."

Link smiles at the chef, "it looks very nice and im sure it'll taste even better. Thank you."

Impa smiles, " it looks wonderful and something to dip sounds like a fun addition. thank you."

He bows and heads back into the kitchen.

Ike had put away more food than anyone else, being a male alpha and an active young male. He eagerly dips into the cannoli and takes a bite, " mmm, this is really good."

Link happily eats the dessert, thankful at how simple it is.

Zelda pouts briefly that its not a lavish dessert but shrugs and starts eating it

Paya and Sheik gladly dig in, though Sheik is more careful to eat it without being messy while Paya just enjoys it.

Link smiles happily as he finishes eating and he sighs, "that was really good." he was incredibly grateful for the more simplistic meal and dessert since he was trying to make sure Ike wasnt too nervous or overwhelmed. Just the sheer amount of food on the table probably would throw anyone off so he was really happy that it wasnt one of their more lavish dinners where you probably would have to use the correct kind of utensil. it rarely happened anymore, the last time was when a small group of people who were 'friends', as impa put it, of grandma and grandpa stopped into town and wanted to 'catch up'.
When Link had asked who these people were and why we had to be nice impa had merely gave an exhausted sigh and had mentioned, old rich people just like to stick close to other rich people to confirm their status and thats why she used the term 'friends' lightly. And by 'catch up' it was really just an awkward dinner conversation that involved a brief second of saying 'oh we're sorry for your loss' and then them commenting about how much money they have and how much more successful they were going to be in comparison than those who are distracted with children.
Impa had been curt and polite the entire time through however that was the last time Link had ever heard anything about that family. Something neither Sheik nor Impa 'would know about'

Ike finishes his portion and sits at the table, fiddling around with his silverware. did he just leave? was he supposed to wait until everyone was done? it was still a nerve wracking situation that he knew nothing about. it was less formal than he thought, though there were plenty of hints that it was often more extravagant.

Link finishes his drink before looking at impa, "im gonna study for a little bit in my room before i decide to head out. Ah, but i'll make sure and say goodbye to everyone before I leave." He gets out of his chair and pushes it in before glancing at ike and smiling, "if you're done you better go back to those pool toys. They wont blow themselves up."

Ike blinks and nods, " ah yes, right. not that i'd be able to get them all done today anyway, but i'd better get back to work." well at least that gave him a direction to go, quickly getting up and heading back to the pool room to sit on the floor and do his busywork.

Link heads to his room, really wanting to get some reading done but he decided to take it to the pool so he can have ike's company while he reads

zelda smiles and sips her water, "that was really good. what are your plans for the night, auntie?"

Ike waves when he sees Link, keeping his mouth on the toy to keep filling it with air.

Impa smiles, " yes it was good. really i don;t have much planned. i have some paperwork i was going to read over, but it's not urgent to be done tonight."
