Orions sighs and goes into rens room,  preferring to be in there for the time being,  "i guess... i just didnt think that a captain would do that.  They're supposed to be important so why not just have a small team do it for you. "

Ren tilts his head, " most would. but good leaders lead by example. if she is unwilling to forgo sleep to ensure her ship is safe, why should she expect her crew to do so?"

Orion blinks before sighing softly, "i..... guess. Just not used to that i guess."

[Namari]

Ren shrugs, " my people lead by example. leaders do not send those who follow into battle without them, they are at the front fighting harder than anyone else. scars are hard to get for my kind, being that we can kind of repair out scales and such by shifting them. but if you ever do some to my planet, you'll see our chiefs are usually covered in old wounds and sometimes missing limbs. it earns them respect, doing the hardest and most dangerous things themselves as well as dictating it to others."

Orion hums, "fair. Ina didnt have any scars that i could see. Although it could be hidden or maybe this ship just doesnt get involved in fighting.....despite having a training room."

Ren shrugs, " it could be that their training is usually less direct, and often more ship to ship as we saw previously. It's hard to know. also they seem to have very high quality facilities, they likely have access to the medical treatments that would prevent scarring and such even in hand to hand combat. My homeworld does not, and would not get it even if it were feasible. we wear our scars proudly, it's a story of a great struggle survived by wits and strength."

Orion nods, "yeah you mentioned that before. About you liking scars. " he scratches the back of his head before sighing, "i guess.... we just wait for now."

Ren blinks and chuckles, " well, it's an honorable thing to have. mine are mostly under my scales, but i do have a few. this is the only one my scales do not fully hide." he twists his torso and taps his side, where a rippled area of scales forms a diagonal line down his side, not very noticeable. " it does not look like much, but my side was torn open by one of the big predator fish from my home."

Orion looks at rens side before frowning. He lays down on rens bed and looks up at the ceiling, "i dont think id look good with scars."

Ren tilts his head and considers it, " perhaps not, though a few small ones, especially on the face in the right spots, can look quite rakish. takes away a bit of the soft 'protect me' sort of look."

Orions eyes widen and he turns bright blue, "pr-protect me?! I have that kind of face?!"

Ren chuckles, " well yeah, kind of. it's rounded and makes you look quite young."

Orion quickly presses his hands against his cheeks and pouts, making his face looking even more pudgy, "i look young because i am young! That'll change when i get muscles!"

Ren laughs softly, " that...that does not help. somehow i cannot imagine you lean and muscular."

Orion gives a fake gasp, acting offended as he puts his hand on his chest, "rude!!"
