Ren nods, " yes, it's been a considerable amount of time. it was before i was hatched that the stars were last seen."

Orion blinks and frowns, "thats confusing. I dont remember seeing stars either but... if the stars were missing before I was taken then..." orion huffs a little, "Either i am a lot older than you or something in this timeline is not adding up for me."

Ren's tail flicks, " your species lives longer than mine, perhaps you are older. it would not be surprising."

Orion snorts softly, "I suppose someone's age in years doesn't equate to maturity." He chuckles softly, "cuz you are do much more mature than I am."

Ren shrugs, " we have to mature quickly and learn responsibility and self sufficiency fast to survive and thrive back home. it's a harsher way of life, but it works for us."

Orion hums softly, "well back then I'm sure we had a lavish life style and we could afford to stay younger."

Ren nods, " possibly. or at least in your case, you were raised a very specific way and it was not to be self sufficient. you cannot be blamed for that."

Orion looks at ren, "ah I never said I blamed myself. And it wasn't just me, that other galakin in that weird fountain. They seemed pretty young and immature as well. Regardless, it is interesting that the governing power has managed to keep the last of us hidden so long."

Ren flicks his tail, " indeed... by forcing you to rely on them, they remove resistance. i am not sure, they likely keep them completely isolated so that as few know of their existence as possible. those who do know are either threatened or incentivized to keep the secret."

Orion sighs, "well I'm not going to let someone control me again. Not anyone in the government, not any other pirating ship, peaceful ship, or even my own species like before. This whole mission I am choosing to do because if the stars actually die then that will be catastrophic for everyone, me included. I just can't fight, unfortunately."

Ren tilts his head, " your own species controlled you?"

Orion frowns, "well... yeah at colligans planet remember? When I got that boost of power and lost control? Technically I wasn't in control for that brief moment. I can't blame the other galakins for being so upset though..."

He nods, " ah, yes. i forgot about that. i thought perhaps you meant you remembered something from before. my mistake."

"It's alright. To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if something else happened as well. I'm hoping my parents can tell me more than the book missy gave me had."

Ren nods, " well i would think they would know more, seeing as they lived when your kind were at their peak."
