He nods, " long story short, we're stranded here for a few days while our ship gets fixed, we're bored, and my friend has never really seen animals. plus i heard you have a pond that you might be willing to let me use, being semi-aquatic and all. it's been awhile since i've been able to properly swim."

The woman blinks and nods, "well i suppose that all would make sense. Lemme ask pa about the pond. I know he aint minding the animals." She goes over to their gate into the fence and opens it, "follow me dears, he is feeding kaltinecker." She starts heading over to a large barn

Ren nods and follows, " come on, at the least this will kill some time."

Orion nods and follows closely behind the basilisk

The woman walks up to a man and taps on his shoulder, "dear? There are some outsiders here who would like to look at the animals and also our lake."

The man turns his head and he blinks when he sees ren first, "been a while since this moon has seen a basilisk. What in juniper's moon brought you all the way out here, son?"

[Namari]

Ren blinks slowly, surprised that they'd even seen one before. " the ship i've been serving on was damaged and needed repairs. we weren't planning to be in this sector, our warp was a little...off. regardless we'll be here for a few days, and there's nothing i can aid with in the meantime so there's nothing to do. My friend would like to see the animals, and if it's not too much to ask for i'd enjoy a swim. i'd be willing to trade labor for your trouble."

The husband dusts himself off chuckling, "well I woulda let ya just cuz you got a galakin with ya but I'd never say no to a basilisk offering help. Best kinda work out there comes from basilisks. In fact if the work is as good as i think it will be i could even throw a lil bit of coin for way."

Orion blinks as he listens to the guy talk

Ren glances at him quickly, " i'd prefer if the fact that we have a galakin here stays quiet... please. and i would be happy to offer my services for the time being while we're here. if it's satisfactory enough to earn coin, i will let you be the judge."

[MissyLooni]

The man shrugs,  "kid is safe here but yeah sure i'll keep my mouth shut. The lake is bout a half mile down. "

Ren smiles and bows, " if there is anything i can do in return let me know. if there are fish in the pond, i would be happy to catch a few for meals." the tip of his tail flicks as excitement builds, he was going to be able to swim properly for the first time in months.

[MissyLooni]

The man shrugs, "we dont really use the lake much so feel free to do as you please. Too buggy for our liking."

Orion blinks and frowns, "then why even have a lake..."

The man laughs, "kid, ya know how rare it is for a moon to have such a large lake? We'd never fill it in. It actually gives this home some value."

Ren snorts softly, " bugs don;t bother me. you coming with me or you gonna stay here and check out the animals?"

Orion looks at ren and smiles, "animals. I found out i can take pictures with the datapad and reverse image search so i can learn about them. This way i wont need someone to tell me what i'm looking at. Its great. You enjoy yourself, okay?"

Ren nods, " alright. call me if you need me." he jogs towards where they indicated the pond was, yanking off the clothing and diving in. His body swings side to side, propelling him through the water like a crocodile. He snoops around, snatching a few fish and gladly eating them under the water, enjoying the fresh meat.

Orion smiles and goes to the animals, checking them out

Ren swims and enjoys himself, munching little fish as he goes, and catching a few larger ones which he puts up on shore to give to the family.
