Ren frowns, " i suppose sometimes you can. but that doesn;t make it right. i want you to live as i do, completely free, no question about it. but i can;t make you choose that. i could force you to stay with me, but you would not be free."

Orion huffs and looks down, "so what, he can just continue to go about his day without having him verbally admit he was wrong?"

Renshajoh nods, " right. his unwillingness to say he was wrong should have no bearing on your and your life. chances of you seeing him again after you leave is slim, he will be just one stranger out of many you'll meet in your lifetime, many of which are assholes like him. while trying to change them is an admirable goal, you will in the end, just frustrate yourself. it is better to let it go, and while you can never forgive him, pity him for the wretched life he must live."

Orion blinks before huffing, "I dont understand the question. You do something bad and you get punished for it."

Ren blinks, then it clicks and he gets it, " ah... it depends on the situation. it depends on what happened, and your choice. but no, the individual need not be punished for it. i can decide it is not worth it and walk away."

He nods, " yeah. that's right. i mean, what if i took some food off your tray. that's not right, but does it really mean you have to hurt me because of it?"
