Topic: The long road, a pokemon journey (Namari x missylooni)

Satoshi chuckles, " maybe a bit more than that on foot, but it's not far. depends on if i have to pick you up after you trip since you're not paying attention to where you're putting your feet." he scans the side of the road and blinks as he sees a fruit tree, " and if we were going on pokemon, we likely would have missed this." he veers off the road and heads to the tree, " these are pretty sour, but the pokemon will enjoy them at least." he hauls himself up into the tree and starts picking the ripe fruit.

Aki blinks and looks over at the tree and the fruit. He puts his phone away and walks over to the tree, "I'd question you on the whole sour thing but clearly we dont have the same taste buds."

Satoshi laughs softly, " too sour for me, but you have at it." he carefully wraps each fruit and puts it into his bag, getting as many as he can fit into the bag for the pokemon later. He ten tosses a few down to Aki, " here you go."

Aki easily catches the fruit, eagerly taking a big bite out of one, "Mmmm~ Sucks that its sour for you~"

Satoshi chuckles, " yeah, it's not really even edible it's so sour. Glad you can enjoy it though." he climbs down and whistles as he keeps walking, " everyone will be excited to dig into these tonight."

Aki smiles as he keeps munching on the fruit, "such a shame~ like, imagine the texture of a watermelon but with the flavor of a raspberry! Its really interesting actually."

He laughs, " makes me almost want to try it again to see, but i know for a fact that if i did my mouth would hurt from it being so sour. so strange how differently human and pokemon taste buds work."

Aki nods, "if i...if im being completely honest with you. A part of me wouldnt mind having answers as to why that is. Like, do i have a combination of human and pokemon taste buds? If i do shouldnt my human taste buds get affected and think this is sour? If i only had pokemon taste buds then how do i know what a raspberry even tastes like? I wish i had some answers but to get them means I'd have to go to that base and find those scientists and thats way too dangerous. I mean, they wouldnt just tell me im sure..."

Ren shrugs, " im going to say you have pokemon taste buds. it seems like pokemon taste humans foods pretty normally, from what i've seen. i guess there must just be some special enzymes in the pokemon fruits that interact badly with human taste buds, therefore making them taste weird. i dunno, i could be off my rocker."

Aki snorts, "I wouldnt say off your rocker. You're just trying to help me. I appreciate it though so thanks."

He chuckles, " glad you see it that way. but yeah, im just going to say it's probably something the fruit evolved to be a symbiotic thing with pokemon for seed dispersion."

Akihiko nods, "Yeah i could definitely see that as well." he finishes eating his second piece of fruit before putting the rest in his side pocket of his backpack

Satoshi keeps scanning near the trail for more bushes as they walk but doesn't find any that are ripe before they reach town. " well it's still pretty early, do we want to stock up and then try and make it to our next destination? or maybe hang around here a few days while we figure out what we want to do next?"

Akihiko hums and rubs the bridge of his nose, "do you know where your destination is? You wanted to find that bastard I know..."

Satoshi nods, " roughly. there's recent reports of attacks matching his style and description a few days travel away towards the west."
