Takana hums and happily starts eating. It wasn't the best flavored but somehow he enjoyed this so much more then what he normally makes. It was probably because he was enjoying it with good company

Arakan soon polishes his meal off and smiles, " i know there's not a whole lot to do here, especially not compared to what you were used to, but want to come up to the roof with me? there's a pretty good view, we can even see over the wall. i tried my hand at making an old recipe earlier my father remembered from when he was young we can snack on up there."

Takana finishes eating as well and looks up at arakan curiously, "oh? Yeah of course I'll go up on the roof."

Arakan nods and grabs a container, leading the way up several sets of stairs until they're up on the roof. Most of what can be seen is just the district, but a sliver of water in the distance is visible. He sits on a bench and leans back, patting the seat next to him.

Takana follows curiously, sitting next to arakan, "do you come up here often?"

Arakan nods, " yeah. to think, to just relax, enjoy the fresh...ish air. wonder what the rest of the world is like." he opens the container. " the real stuff was a kind of coal roasted cracker soaked in honey with some charred goat cheese on top, but my father was little and doesn't remember what the crackers were made from and we don;t have real honey, and of course the cheese we can get is pretty lame, so this is the closest i can get. it's still pretty good though."

Takana's ears perk up a little, "oh? It certainly already sounds good." He does his best to peer over at the snacks

Arakan holds out the container, " go ahead, i made them mostly for you to try."

[MissyLooni]

Takana's head snaps up to look at arakan, extremely touched that anyone would make him anything, "oh wow. You didn't have to do that." He takes one, biting into it and chewing. He can't help but smile as he swallows, "they're good! I like them."

[Namari]

Arakan shrugs, " well, i make it for myself when i want to have a taste of how things used to be, and they're really one of the only things i know how to make, even though apparently they're not right according to my father. but they'll do." he leans back and munches on one, staring out at the ocean.

Takana hums softly and takes another, munching on it as he also leans back, for the first time feeling relaxed, "well uh... if everything goes well with the gardens then maybe in a few years you'll be able to get your own honey and get your snack that much closer to the original."

Arakan nods, " that would be nice. to be able to taste the same things my ancestors made and tasted."

Takana nods, but doesn't say anything. He doesn't really know what to say. He doesn't want to make any promises that he can't keep, but he wished he could ensure that arakans district, most demon districts, were treated with more respect.
He's quiet for a while, as he stares out towards the ocean. He had a better view in his bathroom at his old apartment, but he wasn't going to say that in front of arakan.
"I can see why you come up here. It is very quiet."

Arakan nods, " yeah, peaceful. good place to get away from things."

Takana snorts softly, "I'm sure you had to come up here a lot more after I showed up."
