Topic: To Cross That Line (Namari x Missylooni)

[Namari]

Arakan notices him waiting and heads out of the apartment, leading the way to the store. He scans around as they walk, looking relaxed but alert for threats.

[MissyLooni]

Takana walls next to him,  hesitantly glancing up at arakan, "um... so... if we're in public... can we hold hands or is that a... a no? "

[Namari]

Arakan starts a bit, looking at Takana, " i... as much as i would like to, im not certain it's a good idea. it ties up my hand in the case of me needing to fight, and beyond that... it would place certain implications and expectations on both you and i. im sorry."

[MissyLooni]

Takana's face falls a little before he gives a weak smile, forcing out a small chuckle, "i-i see. Well I guess that sounds less hurtful."

[Namari]

Arakan sighs, running a hand through his hair. " if things weren;t so damned complicated i would. but if people see it, they will expect that you are my mate. i am... not sure you would enjoy that role. it would mean you would not be able to leave, the humans would no longer trust you to leave the district, nor would it be wise for me to allow you out of my reach. there are many responsibilities you would be expected to assume, and you would also need to learn to behave in certain ways. If i was not the heir to the district... it would be less complicated."

[MissyLooni]

Takana looks down, "y-you don't have to go into details. I get it. I just... I'm used to it. Can we please drop it?"

[Namari]

Arakan grits his teeth at the 'im used to it' the implication that he was treating Takana no better than that damned human guard was not a thought he liked. But..." I suppose I deserve that. Very well." He picks up his pace slightly, taking them directly to the store and heading in.

[MissyLooni]

Takana's ears lower when arakan picks up his pace and he cant help but shrink in himself a little. He didnt mean to upset arakan, "Im... sorry. I shouldnt have asked."

[Namari]

" no, you were within your rights. It merely rankles to know that to keep you safe I am reduced to being compared to that murder. We're here to get your shopping though."

[MissyLooni]

Takana looks at arakan, frowning, "I haven't compared you to anyone much less a murderer."

[Namari]

He looks at Takana with an eyebrow raised, " you said you were used to it. The one who I know hid you from their partner is Curtis is that not correct? I may not have another partner but I am hiding us."

[MissyLooni]

"Curtis isn't a murderer! He would have told me such a thing!"

[Namari]

Arakan snorts, " well I suppose in his mind if they are not human, it is not murder. You have not been here for long, I have. He would have killed Izanagi in a heartbeat had you not stepped in."

[MissyLooni]

Takana huffs,  "Curtis wasn't the one aiming the gun. Sure you could argue that he's sometimes the leader of these inspections who have the okay but he was just doing his job. A job he almost got fired for when he stopped the inspector from firing the gun after he had also argued for our behalf. He's not perfect,  far from it but he's not a murderer."

[Namari]

Arakan snorts, " only after you jumped in. had you not stepped in, he would not have blinked as Izanagi was murdered. it's his JOB to oversee and order murders. i at least take responsibility for the lives i must take."
