Ike stumbles back, grabbing at his side, " cripes sake you're stubborn. fine, you want to do it on your own, go for it. i've got my own men to worry about." he shakes his head. " damn stupid stitches..."

Link looks upset at first, obviously not meaning to hurt Ike, "ah-!" Link fumbles around in his pouches before pulling out a small, red bottle, pressing it against Ike's chest so he takes it, "sorry..." Link mutters quietly.

(I like to imagine that potions are a little harder to come by because a chunk of ingredients that are needed to make potions were naturally growing in parts of hyrule field that are now under control by the enemy and thats why zelda didn't just give everyone a bunch of potions in order to heal.)

Ike blinks and grabs hold of the potion, having no idea what it is, " um, thank you?" he looks at the red bottle and puts it in his pocket, confused, " it's fine, it just pulled a bit. now, would you just calm down? "

Link is about to open his mouth but he glances around the market, nervous at the amount of people still around. He takes Ike's hand and leads him to an empty alley far away from everyone.

Ike blinks and lets himself be dragged off to an empty alley, " if it were anyone else i'd think you were mugging me you know. so what's up? what do you want to tell me?"

Link blinks a few times to clear his vision before taking a deep breath, "you cant... you cant just... say things like that and not understand why I'm upset. Thats not fair! You expect me to stay calm after hearing things like 'broken spirit' and 'not a threat'? That is the only reason for my existence- of course I'm going to be upset!"

Ike crosses his arms, " i never said that you were like that, i said those were what was worst. you're kind of suppressing your shit right now but that'll just make it worse. And you're more than this destiny they've set out for you, you are a person too."

Link shakes his head, "I'm not ike. I'm not though." He looks down, his vision blurring as his eyes swell up with tears, "And I'm not an idiot. I know I'm not fine... but... for one day... can I just pretend I am? Can I please....just have one day... to figure out if I'm still the-the same person that I used to be?" He sees his tear drops hit the ground and his shoulders hunch, bringing a hand over his mouth as he tries not to make any sounds

Ike sighs and runs his hand through his hair, " well, running away from it isn;t good but yeah, i guess i can understand that..." he pulls the smaller closer into a hug, " tell anyone i did this and i'll deny it."

Link's eyes widen slightly and he freezes briefly. He sniffles and relaxes in Ike's hold, nodding before hesitantly pressing his face against Ike, his shoulders shaking as he silently cries, the only giveaway being the soft sniffles and hiccups.

Ike rubs the smaller males back, making comforting noises, " easy does it... you'll be alright."

After a few long minutes Link finally begins to calm down, his shoulders no longer shaking but he keeps sniffling as he tries his best to not be covered in snot, 'I... really don't want to let go... but I feel pretty awkward for holding him this long to begin with.' He hesitantly drops his arms to his side, letting Ike know he can let go at any time

Ike feels the other drop his arms and pulls away slightly, " you okay now?" he sees the others tear-streaked face and digs a spare headband from his pocket, handing it over, " it can be washed, go for it."

Link sniffles and takes the headband and wipes his face with it, "Thank you... I... I'm sorry."

Ike shakes his head, " don;t worry about it. this is why i usually let professionals handle this crap." he chuckles nervously.
