The soldier, who calls himself Iida, grabs a wooden sword along with link and they start practicing, link obviously being better than iida.

Ike tries to ignore the fight between Link and Iida, sparring with a new partner and explaining some moves and correcting his technique.

[MissyLooni]

Link quickly knocks Iida to the ground and gives a goofy grin. He helps Iida up and gives a soft chuckle, rubbing the back of his head.

Iida laughs and pats Links back, "One of these days I will get you on the ground!" His hand lingers on Links back.

Ike growls when he sees that and ends up knocking his sparring partner to the ground. He winces, " sorry." he looks over at Link, " hey! how about you face someone a little closer to your skill level? im having a hard time toning it down to the basics today it seems."

Link's face brightens up and he nods, quickly going over to ike.

Iida blinks and frowns, huffing slightly.

[Namari]

Ike smirks and takes up a fighting stance, " you ready to lose again green boy?" he glances at Iida, victory in his eyes.

[MissyLooni]

Link doesn't notice at Ike glancing at iida as he stretches for a real fight, smirking.

Iida catches Ike's glance and glares at him

Ike waits until Lin is done stretching, then rushes in to start the fight, glad to show his greater skill off to Iida.

Link holds his own in the fight, focused and alert to every one of Ike's movements.

Soon everyone else notices how long they have been fighting for and a crowd begins to gather.

Ike matches Link blow for blow, striking, blocking, parrying. his shirt darkens as they keep fighting, getting soaked with sweat as he struggles to try and get the upper hand over the younger.

[MissyLooni]

At some point during the fight Link had tossed his hat to the side as sweat had started to trickle. He doesn't bother performing any move that would require him to jump, flip or spin as he works to conserve his energy wisely for more of an endurance fight. He pants heavily as he keeps up with Ike, trying to ignore the fact that his clothes have at least five layers of sweat touching him.

The crowd becomes excited quickly as they cheer on both fighters.

Ike mentally thanks that he always has the headband on, it keeping most of the sweat out of his eyes and giving him a slight advantage there. He circles to try and get the sun behind him, going for another strike.

Link curses softly and quickly jumps to the side, rolling behind Ike easily before using his momentum to perform the back slice in hopes that he finally lands a hit

Ike grunts as he recognizes the move, twisting and using his free hand to lift his sheathe to block the blow, stumbling backwards.

the impact causes link to stumble back as well. he puts a hand on his knee as he breathes heavily, sweat dripping from his face
