Ren nods slowly, tail lashing in agitation.

Taro looks up at her with a scowl, what in blazes are you going on abou-" he glances out the window and gapes, hand holding a welder dropping slightly until he hits his own hand, yelping as he burns himself, " son of a!"

Sally stumbles into the main control area, " is everyone okay?! the ship..."

Coco's cheeks puff out a bit as she stops herself from laughing, "oooops."

Ina quickly goes over to Sally and brings her up to speed on what just happened, pointing to the windows

Tai watches the scanners closely, going from looking for organic material, to pockets of power, to anything not metal but the amount of interference from the star power was making her systems go haywire. It didn't help that she felt the pressure to find the galakin what with the basilisk behind her lashing his tail about.

Sally slowly goes over to the windows, hand covering her mouth as she stares wide eyed at the stars and debris, " oh my..."

Ren notices Tai tensing up and moves away, staring out one of the windows in hopes of spotting some sign of Orion.

Taro shakes his head, " stupid to get distracted." he places a burn patch onto it before getting back to work on her arm.

Ina sighs and looks at Tai, "have you got anything tai?"

Tai nervously looks at Ina, "no. There's so much interference that the scanner can't display anything on the screen. We're blind out there."

Ina tsks softly and crosses her arms as she taps her foot. They couldn't look for star power since it was everywhere now organic matter was everywhere from the planet debris as well.... she hummed softly before looking up at Tai.

She walks over to the screen on Tai's station before nodding, "then if we're blind we should rely on our other senses. Boot up SAM and see what we can hear."

Tai blinks, "Sam? It's been so long since we even turned that on, will it even power up?"

"Taro would have ensured that it still works in his weekly maintenance reports."

Tai nods and get up from her spot and waddling over to a different nearby station and flips some switches, turning it over and watching it light up. She grabs a pair of thick, ancient headphones and holds them out to Ina.

The captain puts them on and nods at Tai, giving the technician the okay to start making adjustments.

Taro hears his name and lifts his head, glaring, " of course SAM works! there's not going to be non-functioning equipment on a ship im upkeeping! he growls and goes back to Coco's arm, " going to need some new polyskin."

[MissyLooni]

Tai whines softly, "I wasn't doubting you Taro but it's just so old. These things were used on the very first spaceships so it's just ancient."

Coco sighs, "as long as I can use my hand in fine with some things being exposed. "

Ina blinks and puts her hand on Tai's shoulder, "Tai, lower the hertz a bit more."

Tai nods and messes with the dials a bit before Ina taps her shoulders, signaling her to stop.

Ina nods and unplugs the headset, the soft sound of a heartbeat comes through from the stations speaker, "it's weak,  but there's no doubt that we picked up a heartbeat."

Taro grumbles and tests Coco's arm with a machine before unhooking it, " let me know if anything seems off, it looks good from the scan i just did, but it won't catch things like screws being loose."

Ren's head whips around, " heartbeat?! that's him!? we need to get out there and get him!"

ina hums and looks at ren, "i cant say for sure that it is Orion, however, it is a heartbeat for sure and i cant imagine anything else surviving that implosion to explosion. As it stands we still cant move the ship until the engines are deemed safe but like i mentioned earlier we do have a few suits and tethers if someone would like to go out there and manually find the source of the sound."

coco flexes her arm and hand to ensure that everything is connected well, letting her fingers twirl a bit before nodding, "I believe this is a job that some would call superb. regardless motor function is back. thank you Taro."

Tai sighs, "Im not very mobile so you know it cant be me."

Ren's tail lashes, " i will go. get me the equipment and i will go out there."

Taro nods, " good. let me know if you need any adjustments." he packs his tools away.

Ina looks at ren and nods, "You may need to change shape just a bit to fit into the large suit we have but we can make it work. please follow me." she heads out of the room

Ren nods and quickly follows after, " this is something i can do."

She gets to the lower deck where they store some single pilot ships and suits for space. She walks down the line until she gets to an extra large for those with scales and tails, "here we are." She pulls it out, "it has an adhesive opening for your tail so you still have full mobility of your tale without worrying about ripping the suit. It looks baggier than it actually is because once you have a tight enough seal it draws the air out and tighten to your shape. I assume you're not used to the artificial lung so for now we'll supply you with a helmet that will be connected to your oxygen tank. Let me get the jet pack, tether, and space gel while you get the suit on." She quickly points out how he's supposed to put it on before going back over to some supply lockers

Ren blinks slowly as she explains, " okay." he'd figure it out. He carefully puts the suit on, shifting his shape as needed to make it fit and avoid ripping it. One main thing seemed to be that he'd have to shift away his killing claws on his feet. less than ideal, but it wasn't made specifically for his kind so it was understandable.

Ina comes back with an oversized, although more than likely perfect for rens head, glass helmet along with the other supplies, "hopefully the helmet should be big enough to accommodate your face shape. I'd like to avoid having you shift too much but it is what it is." She walks to rens behind and makes sure the tail is snug and there is no movement from the suit before nodding and checking the other sections, "alright that looks good. Now, "she activates the suits suction, allowing it to conform around rens shape before she attaches the tank and jet pack and straps them in. She pulls the mechanical arms of the jet pack out, letting the controls swing out and sit where rens hands can comfortably rest before locking the arms in place, "left switch let's you go up or down, right lever is forward or backwards. Take your time learning the controls as you have plenty of power for it and a tether if anything goes awry." She grabs the helmet and looks at ren, "let me know when you're ready for the helmet."

Ren is confused but lets her do what she needs to do, yelping hen she tugs at his tail. He puts his hands onto the controls, " okay... uh, lets try the helmet?" he carefully puts it on.
