Takana gives a dry chuckle, "I'm not that amazing at cooking. It really is my mom's cooking. SHE was amazing at cooking."

[Namari]

He waves a hand, " it matters little. regardless, we can eat here, or we can seek some of the food vendors around the district if you prefer. it doesn't matter either way to me."

[MissyLooni]

Takana hums softly, "we can eat here. I'm not really a picky eater so I'm sure it'll be fine."

[Namari]

Arakan pulls out his phone and sends a text. " it'll be about half an hour before it's ready, so if you'd like to go back to reading go ahead."

[MissyLooni]

"What do you plan on doing for that half hour? "

[Namari]

Arakn blinks, " probably look over my papers again? i didn;t really have anything planned yet."

[MissyLooni]

Takana hums, "got it. Alright, I'll go back to the archives then."

[Namari]

Arakan goes to his room, grabbing the papers and coming back, making himself comfortable in a large cushy chair. He crosses one leg over the other and leans his head on a hand while he looks them over, occasionally taking a pen to them and marking the paper.

Takana settles into the archives and finds the book he was reading and goes back to reading

After a half hour a female demon comes into the room and sets two plates on the big table, as well as a pitcher of tea. The meal is slices of liver and veggies.

Arakan sets his papers down and sits to eat, " not the most appetizing i know, but liver is cheap and easy to get, and full of nutrition, so it's pretty common fare here." he starts eating without complaint.

Takana had gotten up and went to his plate and, while keeping his face neutral, mentally panicking at the idea of eating liver for the first time.

he sits down and blinks a bit before glancing at arakan, "just a quick question though, what does liver taste like?"

[Namari]

Arakan blinks, " it's got a strong flavor, kind of metallic and earthy." He takes a drink of his tea.

[MissyLooni]

takana nods. okay. metallic and earthy. he can handle that. he hesitantly takes a bite of the liver, not wanting to be rude and not eat it. he ate worse things in college he thinks. he once consumed three redbulls instead of actual meals once because he had 5 exams in one day and couldnt be bothered so realistically this is probably better for his body than energy drinks.
The texture was off putting though..... and it could have honestly used thyme. but to be fair he wondered if spices were hard to come by. even humans seem to treasure them a little too much in the past

Arakan makes his way through the meal, emptying the plate, " at the very least, you'll know you got a lot of nutrition. it's really good for you, if not the most appealing." he drinks a full cup of tea after, " i'll admit it's not my favorite though.

takana manages to bite through his meal before drinking down his tea, thankful to save this blessing for last to save his taste buds. he sets the cup down and sighs, "It certainly is better for me than some things i have consumed, i'll give it that."
