Topic: To Cross That Line (Namari x Missylooni)

Curtis, being on high alert after getting called in on his day off, had noticed arakan coming and was fast at coming down to the gate, "arakan! The tracker says Isabelle and yori are inside your district. Are they okay? And takana??"

[Namari]

Arakan nods, " they're fine, we're on high alert. can you tell me what's going on? we got very little information, and the jackasses at the west gate think they can handle things." he scoffs.

[MissyLooni]

"A meeting took place at the capital with a bunch of guards, the leader and one of the deer girls about switching out the guards they currently have for new ones since there had been a lot of complaints from the citizens. From what I was told the meeting was almost over when there was a sudden explosion that took out half of the building. The guards that were inside haven't reported to HQ and now chunks of the district are on fire. The assholes you spoke to were probably the same ones who were about to level the entire district just in case but... they can't do that according to the rules. They have to wait first. District 5 has at least 1 hour to respond to the guards and let them know that whatever is going on is under control but if they don't then that whole area is going to get demolished with everyone inside in order to try to contain whatever is going on."

[Namari]

Arakan growls, " fuck. We haven't been able to get contact with the deer girl." He knew there was no point actually telling him her name. He looks at Curtis for a long moment, " I'm almost tempted to just try and go over there myself, those guards can't do shit to me."

[MissyLooni]

Curtis sighs, "no they can't do anything to you but... they have been known to retaliate on to those who can't defend themselves. A big part of the reason why there was a meeting about change over."
He's quiet for a minute as he studies arakan, huffing softly, "they'd never let a demon in. They'd rather play target practice with one than let them through. But if a human that they didn't like volunteered to go in they wouldn't say no. I used to work for district 5 so I know where the capital is."

[Namari]

Arakan nods, " all my vulnerable people are safely hidden. I could just go." He narrows his eyes, " you can't go, you'll be turned into mincemeat." He looks Curtis over, " but if they trust you...got any spare uniforms?"

[MissyLooni]

Curtis snorts, "they'd make a request to be in charge of this district and terrorize your people daily, that's what I mean by retaliate." He listens to arakan and his eyes widen, "wha- spare uniforms? You can't be serious! If takana found out I helped you get into trouble I'd be killed by him!"

[Namari]

Arakan snorts, " he will settle down when he realizes how many lives this would save. You can't possibly hope to survive if it's a rogue demon, but I can deal with it."

[MissyLooni]

"Your collar would set off an alarm the minute you go through any gate." Curtis is quiet again briefly before grumbling, "if I am to trust you then... that means if I take off your collar and you pass through in order to pretend to be human then I need to know that you will put it back on once you're back in this district."

[Namari]

Arakan is quiet for a long moment, " of course. I will not risk my people by refusing to come back." His voice is quiet, " this is the only way to save those people and you know it, and I'd rather take whatever it is on outside of my district."

[MissyLooni]

Curtis gives a hesitant nod, "okay. Just... as selfish as it is to say this I need you to understand that if anyone found out I took your collar off I wouldn't just lose my job. I would probably be tried for the death penalty." He goes to his guard shack and looks around nervously before grabbing his removal tool and going back over to arakan.
He opens the gate and steps inside.
Trust. This is all about trust.
He reaches around arakans neck with the tool and after a brief pause there is a soft beep and Curtis has to catch the collar as the heavy thing pops open and almost falls

" and if this is found out they would take their revenge on my people, we both have a considerable amount to lose." He closes his eyes as Curtis goes to take the collar off, and lifts his hand to feel his neck where the air is cool on it for the first time in his life.

[MissyLooni]

Curtis steps aside, leaving the gate open for arakan to pass, "the guard shack has a full uniform that looks relatively your size. Wear the hat too. Gotta hide your horns."

[Namari]

Arakan steps in, " I'm aware." He swiftly strips down and puts the uniform on, putting the hat on that badly hides his horns. " Hopefully they'll be too busy to look too close."

[MissyLooni]

Curtis nods, "agreed. And just in case let me do the talking. I'm sure you tried to talk to them before coming to me so I don't want to risk anyone recognizing your voice if it can be helped."
He switches out his own AK on his back for the guard shacks fire extinguisher since he knows there's no real point.  He figures an extinguisher will be more useful anyway.
