Tears start to swell in the corners of his eyes and he sniffles before slowly sitting down in the only chair in the dim, dank room.

Torque stands in front of Orion and crosses his arms, "Name. Age. Sex."

"O-orion... uh... I dont know and uh... male." He wasnt sure what these questions were for but he was too scared to even consider lying.

Torque raises his eyes, "You dont know your age?"

"i...yeah? I guess... I dont keep track...." his leg starts bouncing as his nerves start getting the best of him.

Torque huffs, "Fair enough. How long have you been with Colligan Hound?"

"Since I was a child... be-before I knew how to read or write..."

"Do you know who he works for?"

Orion blinks and frowns before shaking his head

Renshajoh stands next to the chair, leaning against the side of it. As he listens his lip curls, bristling at what he's hearing about the others life.

Torque glares, "Obviously not pleased with the answer, "You have been with him your entire life and you dont know about his work?"

Orion nervously looks down, "He... doesnt bring work home.... In fact... this was supposed to be... my first trip... off of the planet...I... I wanna go home..."

"If you had given us your gem you would not have been captured. It's your own fault."

Orion wipes his face angrily, "I-I told you guys! I can't remove it!! What part of that dont you get?!"

Torque raises an eyebrow at Orion's outburst, "Prove it. Take off your shirt. If we can prove that it really is attached to you then I'll arrange for you to go home."

Orion's eyes widen and his face turns a deep blue, "N-no..."

"....no?"

"I-... it's a rule. Only... only certain people can see me without my shirt on....I would be breaking a rule..."

Renshajoh sighs, " how about instead of making him take the shirt off you just let me try to remove it then?"

Torque huffs at Renshajoh, "Can I trust you to actually try to remove it or are you going to be gentle with this damn flower? Remember who pays you."

Orion gasps softly and covers his gem with his hands

Renshajoh rolls his eyes, " well im not going to try and rip it off if it's attached to his skin. and if you keep pulling that shit on me i won;t be being payed by you, don;t forget that. i tolerate your orders for the time being, but finding another employer does not bother me." he growls.

torque rolls his eyes and waves his hand dismissively, "fine, do it how you want to. I suppose if I am dissatisfied I can always do it my way after."

Orion closes his eyes tightly and shivers, "Don't- don't I have a say in this?! It's my body!"

Renshajoh looks at him, " you want to leave right? he's not going to let you until he's satisfied that that," he points to the gem, " isn;t something he can take."

Orion hiccups and looks at Torque, "Why wont you believe me?! I have yet to be dishonest!"

Torque shrugs, "Granted my test questions made me believe in your honesty however there are no races in this universe that have gems growing out of them. Rocks and plants? Yes, there are records of such things. But not jewels and especially not in such a vulnerable spot like the middle of your chest."

Renshajoh frowns, " hold on, he told me earlier he was the last of his race and his planet was destroyed. i may not know much about the universe, but wasn;t there some star people planet that was destroyed? the database mentioned something about gems."

[MissyLooni]

Torque's eyes narrow, "...yes... however we had reports that no one made it off the planet. Not even the men who were mining the jewels lived. That race should have been completely wiped out. The gems they had also glowed with a brilliant light to the point that they did not need a moon at night. I have yet to see this kid glow."

Renshajoh snorts, " yeah well the kids also been a slave almost his entire life. it's not impossible to believe that perhaps he's learned to control it. and it's also not impossible that a few have survived, after all there were likely merchants off planet." he looks at Orion, " if you can make that thing glow to prove me right, nows the time."

Orion turns pale and he stares at the lizard man, visibly shaking, "i-i...."
He wanted to leave so badly but allowing such a rule to be broken would earn him the worst kind of punishment. The kind that his master always promised not to give him if he could help it. But even telling them that would be breaking a rule would expose the fact that he is able to glow. But Renshajoh had put up with him in the least offensive way possible and he felt like not glowing would get the mercenary in some sort of trouble.

Torque gives an annoyed sigh and he taps his boot against the metal floor, "i have had just about enough of this! We need to be on schedule for another jump soon! Just try to grab the damn jewel!"

Renshajoh snarls at Torque, " maybe stop threatening him and he'll stop being so scared! I don;t see why this would halt the jump, we wouldn;t drop him off until after the jump anyway. what harm would giving him more time do?"

Torque huffs, "because the sooner i know what his deal is the better! If he is important enough that my inside man called him a treasure then it's best to know if we encounter any government ships!"

Orion gently takes renshajoh's hand, trembling a bit as he places it on his gem, "t-try to pull it... gently... please... thats still an option right? Please... dont..." his voice grows quiet as he makes sure only the lizard man can hear him, "glowing in front of others is forbidden..."
