Ren raises an eyebrow, " and if they had done so I would have called them cruel and shortsighted."

Orion looks up at ren,  "I'm really glad that you are sticking with me. I don't know if I could do this alone. I barely think I can do this now, but I have to."

Ren looks at the smaller male, " you would find a way to manage. it is however understandable as you were raised to behave one way, and are having to relearn nearly everything."

[MissyLooni]

"I don't mean living in general. And asking people things. I meant it in the way I am expected to save the stars. These people here think it is only me who can save the universe, hell even my parents say that I am unique even amongst other galakins. That's a lot of pressure....I  could easily get hurt or worse. But strangely when I think about doing all of that with you helping me it doesn't feel like I can't do it."

Ren stops, tail lashing slowly as he thinks about what he's saying. after a long moment he starts speaking slowly, " I do not know if you are the only one who can do it, or even if it is possible. i do know that you have succeeded once, and therefore it is possible to succeed again. i have wandered for a long while looking for purpose, feeling no desire to stay on my home planet. but this goal, with you, even if i lose my life fighting for it, is worthwhile. This feel like this is where i should be."

Orion stops when ren does, looking up at the basilisk, "I hope I'm not the only one meant for this. And while I don't want to have this arguement with you, I will say that as long as you're with me I won't have you die. I was able to make sure those who weren't on the planet didn't get affected by the explosion and if I could keep the whole sector safe then I know I can at least keep you safe."
He really didn't want to argue with ren about life and death situations but this was one that orion felt confident with.

Ren nods, " i did not intend to make it sound as if i wished to die or thought i would. I am simply saying this is a goal that is important enough that if it did require so, i would give my life for it gladly. i have no doubt you will do all you can to keep everyone safe."

[MissyLooni]

Orion looks at ren closely before giving a hesitant nod, "okay. Good. Sorry if i... I just... the amount of loss that I already caused feels awful. I know there were innocent lives on colligan's planet that I could not save so I just don't want anyone else to die."

[Namari]

Ren dips his head, " the lives that will benefit from what you did will be forever grateful. it is regretful others were lost, there was little that could have been done however."

[MissyLooni]

Orions eyes water a little, and he takes a deep breath before nodding, "I know. I used to think the explosion was my fault. That I had to redeem all the hurt I caused. So when my parents told us that the planets are doomed to explode without their galakin nearby anyway I felt a little better. It does add an unfortunate timer to our mission but knowing  what I knew then, and the options I had, that I made the correct choice... that I was able to at least save the whole sector somehow.... well that's obviously better than all of us being dead."

" indeed. what is happening is not your fault. any that die is a cause of those who did this to begin with. all those that survive have been saved directly by you. this system was only going to last so long regardless, they just did not know that when they set it up."

[MissyLooni]

Orion nods and gives a much more relaxed sigh, "again, sounding like a broken record here but, I am glad that you chose to stay by my side. Even though you say you are just following your gut I DO appreciate your companionship."

Ren nods, " traveling with you has been overall enjoyable."

[MissyLooni]

Orion smiles at ren, "I'm glad I haven't driven you mad yet with how I act sometimes. No need to comment on that by the way, I am perfectly aware of how annoying I can be." He holds his hand in front of his door and it opens, "hopefully we'll get to an unoccupied planet or moon as well. In the meantime I'll try to give my parents my energy. Goodness knows I have no other use for it."

Ren chuckles softly, " worth a try. im sure we will find a suitable place to test soon." he steps into the room, taking a seat.
